I agree and I love big hits. Believe me, I loved guys like Lynch and Dawkins. I can just accept that the receiver was on his knees and Elam led with helmet first. It's not that I want to see hits diminished but he's just a kid out there playing for an education. What good does a life long injury do him? If you want to see stupid rules, look at defenders putting their hands up to bat the ball down and accidentally touching the QB's head. Or getting knocked to the ground and basically crawling to the QB to stop him from throwing an accurate pass. Those penalties are stupid. I'm all for defending defenseless players from taking helmet shots though.
