Alontae Taylor's story

This is creepy AF.

Especially considering OP is trying to profit of a kid’s story by harassing the kids family and friends around his hometown, when that same kid can’t profit off of his own likeness and still stay eligible with the NCAA

What? Ha. I so disagree with peoples perspective on NCAA players needing to be paid and the entitlement that goes with it.

I’ve done long posts on it before, but to give my perspective in short..... would it have been beneficial for your career if someone had published a story on you at 18 years old thats basically a giant character reference in a nationally distributed publication? He’s doing Alontae a favor.

If you want to check us out, you can sign up for a free trial here.

I also did an in-depth, six-part series profiling Jeremy Pruitt this summer and I guarantee you'll learn plenty about him you didn't know if you read it.

You can find that series here in a series of tweets.

David keep up the good work and dismiss all of the posters on here who want great work like what you do for free. Have a great day and again keep it up. It’s great work.

Every scholarship player is getting paid. Period.

I spent a couple days in Manchester to trace Alontae Taylor's roots and learn how he grew from a skinny quarterback into a guy who looks like the future of Jeremy Pruitt's defense at Tennessee. He's got a really cool support system, and I think you guys will enjoy getting to know him a little better.

Here's a quick preview, and you can find the full story here.

One night, in the middle of Tennessee’s frenzied, disastrous coaching search, Taylor had made up his mind. He walked into the family living room.

“He told me, ‘Dad, I’m finna do something,’ ” Nate Love said.

He dialed up Georgia coach Kirby Smart, fully intending on committing to the Bulldogs. He didn’t get an answer. Just as quickly as he thought Georgia was the answer, Georgia was out.

“He said if they didn’t have time to answer the phone, they wouldn’t pay attention to him when he went down there,” Nate Love said.
Taylor wanted to feel wanted. He wanted to play for a program where he felt needed.

He felt that when Pruitt and athletic director Phillip Fulmer paid a visit here, turning Coffee County Central into a circus. Pruitt couldn’t promise a position or playing time, but Taylor did get to make sure he got No. 6 if he signed with the Vols.
Just for the record, Coffee County doesnt have a y in Coffee.

Alontae is actually from Tullahoma. Send me some money and I will tell you how he ended up at THE Coffee County Central High School.

The Athletic is like $3 a month. If you can't afford that then you probably should be out finding some work instead of piddling around on VN.
Maybe you should mind your own business dude and not try to tell people what to do with their time or money.. Just because you CAN afford something doesnt mean you should!

Did you go to Bonnaroo? That's the only thing that matters in Manchester. The town is known, worldwide, for that one thing. Kind of cool in a way.

Now now, no need to get combative. We're all friends. Your dog is beautiful, by the way. I've got an 8 yo named Moose. Best dogs in the world.

It's also the only city in the state of Tennessee with a certified Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Training Center. You can verify that here:
Torrance, CA - Certified Training Centers- Gracie Academy

With the sheer daily volume of online searches for officially certified Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Training Centers it wouldn't shock me if at least one or two enterprising and ambitious Tennesseans in other parts of the state capitalize on that set of conditions and open their own.

(I don't live in Manchester, but have trained Gracie Jiu-Jitsu for years in case you wondered how I happened to know this little detail.)

That's one way we can all stay friends and get combative. "Gracie Combatives" is the name of the training program for street-ready Gracie Jiu-Jitsu as taught in military and law enforcement, now available to all citizens.

You don't have to pay to read this article. When the pay option shows there is a skip option at top of page, it then proceeds to this article.. It was a good story and I didn't join the Athletic.. This pay option page shows up on all these downloads but just hit skip, at least it worked for me..

I get it that many don’t want to pay to read but why give him a hard time for doing his job? I can’t guess his wages but I bet he’s not running to the bank doing his job. You guys are posting like he’s trying to rob you. I’m sure he works hard and is proud of the job he does.

I hope they are better because the last time I eat there the wings were waaaay overcooked and dry.. it was awful

Roughly when was the last time you ate there?

It has been hit & miss over last few years. But, over the last few months, a new owner has it back up to a high standard.
