Altering the Offensive Line

I just keep wondering when we are going to be tough all the way around...WRs, OL, DL, DBs, LBs, RBs, QB, kicking game...all the way around...together...doggone, I get sorta tired of a strong defense and weak offense, or strong offense and weak defense, or whatever...I'm ready to put a TEAM on the field that does pretty doggone well all the way around!!!
i think most would agree with you....

Definitely not satisfied, but I'm not gonna sit here and tell them who should and shouldn't be playing. Not that they'd listen anyway, but I imagine they'll figure it out on their own in time.

Yea they keep it up and they will have plenty of time to figure things out, one of the advantages of unemployment.

We can always count on allvol123 for the positive outlook no matter the circumstance.

Besides, you just got done saying the line was untalented, so what are the coaches to do? Replace slop with slop?

I guess we can count on you being happy with UT taking a beatdown as long as the score is close. Guess that keeps you feeling warm inside.

Where did I say I was happy? Please provide me with a link to my comments claiming I was happy with a 1 point beatdown. Also, keep on repeating what I say while only changing the meaning. You'll eventually hit on something.

with a comment like "I guess they'll figure it out on their own time", sounds like a satisfied customer to me,

At least get the quote right. I said I imagine they'll figure it out. Even if I said I guess they'll figure it out, how does that show satisfaction? No one is satisfied that I'm aware of. I just choose to remain hopeful that they'll use the next two weeks to work on the deficiencies. I suppose you'll come back with, "Not with this coaching staff and lack of talent," so why should I even bother with watching any more games this season... right?

It shows a ho hum, plodding along attitude. They'll figure it out eventually. They're pretty new at this coaching thing, huh.

Fulmer said on his show the day after the UF game, he wished he had gotten Mcneill in at center some, he didn't realize he had not. What is he doing during the game? His line is getting stuffed, and he wishes he had gotten Mcneill in there, but does not realize it until after the game. Absurd.

He made a similar comment about Coker after the AF game.

It's not really that hard to believe. Head coaches are usually worried with big picture stuff. They obviously can put whoever they want into a game, but that would typically fall on the Offensive Coordinator or position coach.

No doubt, but don't give him a pass that easily. At some point after seeing his line stuffed repeatedly, shouldn't he talk to the OC or the O-line coach and say I think we should try some different guys in there. He is the one that made the Mcneill reference after the game, he can't figure his own thoughts out during the game.

Also, what big picture stuff completely consumes his mind for 3.5 hours that he can't get people in the game that he says should have been in there?

Phil likes to sugarcoat. I guess if he thought McNeil heard this or something it would make him feel good.

I don't know sometimes Fulmer has some of the dumest quotes I have ever heard.

I'm not giving him a pass. He's the coach . . . it's his fault. I'm just offering a possible answer as to how somehing like that can happen. Also, I've posted on here before, Center is probably one of the most difficult positions to make changes on the fly because of all the responsibilities the position entails. It's no wonder they'd be a little slow to pull the trigger.

Fair enough.

Will definitely be interesting to see how things unfold, that we can at least agree on I think.

especially given that McNeil was the one that had like 5 fumbled snaps during fall camp....CPF keeps calling it the "pucker factor"...cause you want to put the most prepared, most consistent perosn out there...unfortunately that doesn't always mean the most talented....they needed someone out there they could trust and someone that could take care of the ball...i think now they are to the pont where Mcneil has earned it....

Saying you wished you had put in him but forgot to is not a slow trigger. It's ignorant.
