Alvin Kamara Commitment Puts Tennessee a QB Away from Challenging for SEC East

While Gibson would be nice I think Dormady is the QB that will help us win the East.

Jennings could beat both. We won't know who does what until they actually come and play. I thought people would learn from the Ferguson fiasco about anointing qbs. My money would be on Gibson but they could all be busts.

2nd series (Peterman): 27 yard pass to Hurd. Hurd 4 yard TD run. Drive: 8 plays, 65 yards

8th Series (Peterman): 4th down completion to Wolf for 15 yards. Hurd 14 yard run. Malone 6 yard TD. Drive: 8 plays, 52 yards.

Granted it was a scrimmage, but that's what I remember.

Peterman also looked very good at last year's open practice....and then Florida happened.

Has anyone mentioned how good Peterman looked in that spring game? He is in position to come on real strong this year. Itd wouldn't surprise me.

Peterman is a lot better than he's shown to date.:lolabove:

Played at a high level of High School Football in Florida.

He's smart, can run,has a fairly accurate arm and if given a opportunity again will make a much better showing.

And Butch recruited him before because of the above noted skills he has....and how he fits into his offense.

Maybe the biggest and best surprise of the upcoming season. GBO :clapping: :yahoo:

Not to pee on this parade.... but UT has to get better OL play than they had last year from guys who are now playing on Sundays. I HOPE we see that this year... but it is a factor just as important as finding a QB.

If it is about Butch and something positive....this guy drops them to the floor faster than you can blink and lets it fly all over it.

This is a huge commit if it sticks. You have to figure he would probably be an immediate impact player no matter where he ends up. For UT to land him over UGA is huge.

I would say that our OL will be a bigger factor than whoever we have taking snaps and whoever is running the ball combined.

It will be nice once again to see some breakaway speed, and RBs not looking for a soft spot to fall down.

I know every media pundit wants to hand the QB job to Worley, because of seniority, but I'm telling you now...stepping out on a limb, here...Dobbs will win the starting job coming out of fall camp.

I know CBJ would like to give Worley a chance...he's been here the longest...but Worley is NOT the best fit for Butch's offense. Dobbs is, and he simply needed time to adjust to the speed of the college game, at this level.

I personally think Dobbs is as good now as Mizzou's Franklin was last year, if not better. He showed in the O/W game, the moxy to stand in the pocket and deliver a perfect strike down-range, with outside pressure up in his grill. That's what NFL...let alone college...teams, are looking for.

Then, the difference-maker is his athleticism. The ability to take a busted play and turn it into 6 points or a big gain. Worley simply doesn't have that in him. Dobb's will be miles ahead of where he was as a freshman and those games he got to play in, will have helped shape him for this coming season.

Agree. Our OL,at this point, is a big question mark. So I believe Dobbs is more geared to adapting to pressure and responding quick. Worley is a great QB, but he needs time to stare down receivers. Our QB, this season won't have much time in the pocket to stare down checkdowns. Lets hope our OL/OL coaching steps up and makes it harder to decide which QB is a better fit.

First time I have seen this....did the Defense look that bad the whole scrimmage?!

pretty much other than when Ferguson was in, but keep in mind this is before the Todd Kelly's, Dillon Bates, and other D freshman joined the team.

There is also a chance that the offensive skill positions are just really good, and that elevates the whole offense (including the QB).

Would you prefer parity where both squads stay locked at the 50 yard line for the whole game, neither gaining nor giving an inch?

I'm (meh) on Dobbs, and Dobbs is (meh) on football. He's got too much else going on in life and he is just doing this for the scholly. He's athletic and all, but when it comes down to it, he will not be doing football in life or for a living. Bless, him and let him have a good life. Peterman is better. Worley is very good and hasn't gotten the respect he deserves yet. The new recruits look awesome from what I've heard.
