That Barnett is a little slow out of his stance when the ball is snapped? He's played good for a true freshman thru his first 2 games and I think he is gonna be a beast in the next few years, but it seems like he get started a split second too late. Has anybody else noticed this?

This is an easy one. As a freshman the hesitation is completely a confidence one. Once he is settled in he will be the beast we need.

I agree he's gonna be a beast for us in the future. He just seems like the last player off the line on plays. Not a knock or anything was just wondering if I was the only one that's noticed

Maybe also watching the ball instead of jumping off sides rather than trying to guess the snap count

^^^ This ^^^^

Young players have to think more and are hesitant because they don't want to make mistakes. He will get faster with experience.

Smokescreen.... so OU thinks he's slow off the ball and then come Saturday he's blowing past the line. All part of Butch's master plan!

Delete this quick before Stoops' spies see it...and don't post any more secrets!

Maybe he doesn't want pre snap penalties and is playing it safe. Butch seems to get REAL red in the face when we get stupid penalties.

how fast is the reaction time suppose to be ?

I don't know. That's why I was pointing it out. If you go back and look at the video of the defensive plays from the USU state game that Freak has posted, I can't be the only one that notices that he seems to be reacting a SPLIT second late. Again not saying that it's a bad thing or a knock on him, just wondering if it's just a freshman thing or what

I just watched the highlights again just to make sure I wasn't crazy. It's not on every play but there's a few plays when he's still in his stance after all the other linemen are engaged in a block. I can't wait to watch him when he gets off the snap quick! He's gonna be a beast!

he actually always has back side contain...so him getting upfield with a right handed qb, particularly against running qbs its not a big deal. He is not wanting to give up the inside lane..just a thought.

:clapping: May this thread rest in peace!

No sarcasm.
