Am I the only one that's noticed...?

No one fires off as slow as Big Dan did. That was so frustrating to watch such a large human play so soft.

That Barnett is a little slow out of his stance when the ball is snapped? He's played good for a true freshman thru his first 2 games and I think he is gonna be a beast in the next few years, but it seems like he get started a split second too late. Has anybody else noticed this?

I haven't noticed it, but like somebody already said, he is a freshman that is probably a little hesitant at times because he doesn't want to commit stupid penalties. All I know is that Barnett and Hendrix both have the potential to be big time defensive ends, and when you throw McKenzie (and possible Tuttle) in at defensive tackle our d-line is going to be lights out with a little experience. The future is looking up Vol fans... have patience.

another coach heard from.....wow

You're right. What was I thinking pointing out a MINOR thing about our stud freshman DE. I forgot that all of our players do EVERYTHING right and we are the best team ever!! Some of our "fans" kill me. If somebody points out anything that's not sunshine pumping then they are "negative" or "not true fans" or "know more than the coaches". Some people need to realize that our players do not do everything right

No, you're not the only one. I was at the USU game and my son commented on how slow he was out of his stance. I started watching from that point and was actually very surprised at how much slower he was getting out of his stance than anyone else on either side of the line.
A freshman who will improve over time and as well as he's already playing, polishing up things like this will make him a true beast.

Thank you. I think it's just because he's a freshman too and maybe isn't used to the speed of the game yet. I knew I wasn't crazy it's obvious what I'm talking about if you just go look at the highlight video

I did notice it and played it back in slow motion. It is the first thing the DL coach looks at. Everything else he does is outstanding. This is an easy fix and he will get better at it.

You're right, it's an easy fix...I played it at 2X speed and he was much quicker.
