this shouldn't shock anyone..they have been shady ever since Lane called them Tuesday night that he left...he has been going to USC since that night and was told to lie until he went public with decommit..he waited till we visited to act like he gave us a shot but his mind was made up before the visit

You are speculating and nothing more. Visits mean nothing whether they are to UT, USC or anywhere else. NSD or thereafter tells all, and that is all that matters. Stop going off the deep-end until things are official and the ink is dry. BTW, Rogers is rated the 2nd best WR on rivals, ahead of Ambles 3rd, and we just got a commitment from the 9th rated WR Hunter. We have an excellent chance of pulling Rogers and anyone who would take Ambles over both Hunter and Rogers is just plain naive. Even if Ambles does not come to UT in the end, instead of bashing him like a bunch of classless jerks, UT fans should be grateful for his recruiting when he was committed here. How many of you think we would have even gotten a visit from Bray among others w/o Ambles being in their ear?

not going off deep end..just saying that its obvious where he is going and its not TN

we got plenty of Wrs in our class and Hunter has mega potential...If you were to tell me we could trade Thompkins and Ambles for Rogers and Hunter I would be all for it.

no surprise, move along

it'd be even less of a surprise if he comes away from there somehow having already signed his LOI too....

I wish Markeith the best in where ever he goes. For a young man choosing where to go to school is a very tough decision.

I don't blame the kid for taking a visit. Heck I would take all of them if I were him. If he commits to USC then we all know that he really wanted to play for Kitten and not the school. Some of these kids want to play for certain coaches that just the way it is. I wish him the best of luck no matter where he goes.

I'm honestly kind of surprised that X is having him visit. The way that gang operates you'd think they would want it to seem like Ambles has no interest in SC and shock the nation when he all of a sudden signs there on NSD.

I agree with Sab though. If he doesn't come in next weekend then we have no shot.

However, if he does come in we at least have the advantage of being his last visit and getting the chance to surround him with a lot of the players he himself helped to recruit here throughout the process.

I'm going to be honest, I think we pull him. I WANT him to go to SC for a visit, meet with the staff (again) and see exactly what they are all about, themselves. I think his Dad is going to have more of a say in the end than we think. I think Mr. Ambles is pulling for him to go to UT and don't be surprised that after he returns from La-La Land, he gets his bearings straight and comes home to the Vols.

I wish I had the capacity for this type of optimism, but I simply do not.

You know what I say to this? GOOD FOR HIM! If he committed to the Vols because of Kiffin than good riddance. If he wants to follow him to the west coast than good riddance. Dont forget that we just got a HUGE commitment from Justin Hunter! What about the mammoth WR that is already on campus Matt Milton, dude has HUGE potential, literally! What about Ted Meline? Is he garbage or something? If DaRick Rogers is truly in the mix, and the way CDD is burning down recruiting boulevard at the moment, don't be suprised if we dont get one or two more big name WRs before it all said and done. To Markieth Ambles, good luck young man, where ever you go, fair winds and calm seas!:stinker2:

He is at least spot on about his dad seeming to favor the vols.

I think the real issue with Ambles is that X has embedded it in his head that he and his staff are the only ones that can get him to the NFL. Ambles obviously likes being looked at as a star (which was duly noted by his petitioning for his 5th star) and more than anything wants to make it to the big show.

Too bad he hasn't googled Charlie Baggett. Randy Moss and Chris Carter did ok in the pros under his tutelage.

Would like to have Markeith. But UT is bigger than one player. If he chooses not to be here, we have plenty of other talented WRs who are hungry to wear the orange. I'm over it.

I'm not going to make any of the assumptions about Ambles that you all are making either pro or con. Most of the sour grapes stuff doesn't hold water though.

I will say that I hope Ambles becomes a Vol. He was the most impressive receiver I saw in the All Star games this year and as good as I've seen in any of them over the years. The kid has a knack for getting separation... something that isn't easy to teach. IMO, he's a year one contributor regardless of where he goes or what the depth chart looks like.

If he ends up a USC then maybe... just maybe... he's still under the spell that alot of folks here were until a few days ago?

I'd love to see him play Kiffin though... that would be absolutely classic.

I wish him the best of luck, wherever he goes. I can only imagine how stressful this whole recruiting ordeal is for each and every 17-18 yr old kid. With that being said, if he does choose USC, then I seriously must question his decision making ability. We need solid young men on the hill not kids that follow the piper. I wouldn't fault my own son for taking as many OV's as possible. It's an experience of a lifetime. IMHO, after the dust settles, he will be in orange.

If he visits USC I say pull his offer. We need to quit playing the games with these kids and get serious. We may miss out on someone who actually wants to be here while playing games with this kid.
