same people that believed the Kony 2012 crap will believe this. Amazingly they're the same ones that also posted it to FB

if you want to succeed the US is still the best place to make the attempt, no matter your background

No country is the "greatest" that is how wars get started. Nationalism is a very dangerous weapon in the hand of politicians.

one thing keeping America from being the greatest country on earth is the sheer amount of lawyers infesting the countryside

We might be in the lower portion of the band of excellence, but we are still firmly in the band.

oh boy - Sorkin tells us like it is.

Greatest? Debatable.

Am I glad I was born, raised and live here? Absolutely.

I know people who saw this and praised the guy for his intelligence and honesty. Not bad for a fictional tv show rant without much substance.

I guess it's proof that just acting smart and condescending makes people think you're smarter than you actually are.

I've noticed this quite a bit lately. I heard someone say, "I was a Libertarian...when I was a teenager." As if the hipster brigade had spoken, and Libertarian views are for idiots. A very small part of me wants to vote Romney because the idiots in the Obama camp are condescending and as you put it "smarter." As if socialist Europe isn't hurting.

Note, "very small part"...I'm still not doing it.

I'm against "exceptionalism" of any country including America. Every country is unique in their own way. Each have their benefits and downfalls.

Greatest country in the world? You're damn right we are!

Reason? We don't need a reason! Look at all these guns and bombs!

We were, might still be, I just don't know right now. I've lived in Panama and Korea, sure would put us ahead of them.

I do know one thing for sure, we could be if we pulled our collective head out of our a$$. The one thing that makes us great is that everyone born in this country has the opportunity to do almost anything if they are willing to do the work.

Everyone gets a trophy :whatever:

Believing your country is superior to all others is what lead the German people to their destruction in WWII and what gave justification for the Serbs actions in Bosnia and else where.

As justification to do bad things, yes.

Having some pride, however? No.

I'm not saying you can't have some level of pride in your country. Having an unadulterated nationalistic opinion; that your country is the greatest thing to see this planet is what worries me (Aka American exceptional-ism).

Why? What in the hell difference does it make to you that people believe what our founders put together here is the best ever?

Why isn't it?
