The American Football World Cup is over and guess who won. The USA. A team of NAIA palyers:eek:lol: went undefeated and won. Here are the scores:
USA vs. South Korea W 77-0:eek:lol:
USA vs. Germany W 33-7
USA vs. Japan W 23-20 OTJapan was better than I thought they would be, but if they played our pro bowl teams, they would all be injured in the first 5 minutes.

They do play real football in a few countries, but they are terrible. They are all like 5'9 155 lbs. I would say Hoover High could beat them all, or any other decent high school.

A couple of ex cal players were playing for the japan team, so I think they are allowed 2 or 3 americans per team.

but they apparently have to have only played at a lesser school

chase lyman (one of the cal players) led the country in receiving and yards per catch before he blew out his knee halfway through the 2004 season. i bet he makes a pro squad eventually.

Why are there Americans on the other team? Why are they playing for their own country? I know I would not play for Japan. American pride baby.

Yes, if by pro squad you mean arena league or a backyard game in Oakland, with 10 dollars on the line. There is no way in hell a meaningless event like this is going to persuade a NFL team to sign him.

People from other countries laughed at us as well. They would say they don't give a shxx to "football", which they refer to "American football". They said our Americans only entertained ourself, like Chinese playing ping pong.

They're lucky nobody here gives a crap about soccer. We could field a rediculously good team in a few years if all our athletes didn't move on to play football, baseball, and basketball.

My understanding is that American kids play soccer until they're old enough to understand and participate in real sports.

ha ha. I never implied it would, just that the kid had great size and spead at cal and I wouldn't be suprised to see him make an nfl squad one day.

The American black athlete doesn't play soccer. That's why its not big in America and why our national teams suck. Blacks choose football, basketball, track, and even baseball all over soccer.

The U.S. gives its women the greatest opportunity to compete in sports over any other country. That explains why our women's national team is so successful despite a lacking presence of black females.

huh?

I really don't agree with this point at all. It sucks because none of America is interested in soccer past the 5th grade not just because black America does not choose it.

I was trying to emphasize the reason why a) no one cares for soccer and b) we suck at it. Our best athletes (who happen to be black) don't play soccer, therefore our teams suck and America doesn't embrace the sport. If the Bondses, Tomlinsons, and Iversons choose soccer, I'd have to think there would have been better athletes on our national teams, likely resulting in more wins and viewership or whatnot.

Another reason for the lack of interest is there is no traditional foundation of soccer in this country; we like "our" sports, like football, which evolved from rugby, baseball which came from crickett, and basketball, which originated in America (by a Canadian).
