I'll go over a list of five things that someone could do over night that would reverse the course of our country and put us back to life liberty and justice for all.

1 tax code reform: we all pay the same. No tax breaks for anyone or any company. Don't burden people by taking what isn't yours. Simple enough for kids to understand but not ole Uncle Sam.

2 Stop spending money to put people in jail and then allowing another person to profit off of their incarceration. Aka end the drug war: punish people through treatment and then resolve their addictive personality issues. Which is the real problem in the first place; not the drug that they are using. Weed was put here by our creator and has been deemed illegal by propaganda. Wether you like it or not.
Same goes for prostitution. We would have no pimps and prosititues, no mass abductions and end the sexual slave trade going on within our own boarders. Simply by regulating and letting grown ass adults make their own decisions.

3 Transparency in our gov: the phrase we all came to love under Obama. It's not even close to happening and never will.

4 stop funding and spreading weapons throughout the world.

5 election reform: you vote and you get a percentage or two knocked off of your income tax. He'll make it worth going to vote!

What about the FED and the QE to infinity money printing?

And what exactly was it that he did that helped you and I?

Nixon did away w/the military draft board & set up an all "volunteer" military during the Vietnam War. I was all set to go off to die in a politician's war until the rules for the military changed.

Well of course he has. He's the president of the United States. We aren't known for caring about anyone or any country. If he were bending over backwards for the polish; he'd be blamed for something else. Instead he's ruined the world because OBAMA. You people ***** about everything he does and really couldn't do anything better. You all have the answers supposedly but yet haven't been elected to any offices.

Not defending Obama in anyway. But I am smart enough to know that everything that happens in the world isn't Obama fault. He's nothing but a puppet just like every single other president we have had or will have in the future.

Sensical post makes too much sense.

I wonder why that happened. Do you think it was because Nixon stayed up late every night and couldn't sleep knowing that kids were dying? Or because people were protesting in the streets and the war was tearing our country apart?

Also I'm glad that you didn't have to go. Such a crazy experience to think about. Our soliders are our country's greatest entity and we continually send them to die for nothing.

All the above plus we were being asked or forced to fight for our country (which was a politician's war) but we were not allowed to vote in elections being at 18 years old. Many other reasons too. Young men were burning their draft cards & saying "hell no we want go".

Getting back to the point of the thread, I admit I didn't read the links provided, but what exactly is this guy asking for? I'm just not sure what it is he's hoping for us to do. Is it that he's just upset with the way the US/EU have handled the Ukrainian crisis? Honestly, taking context out of it (which admittedly means a lot), sounds like he's trying to rationalize greater defense spending for the Polish economy to his peers.

So basically his hand was in some way forced? Right?

Yeah I think he's complaining about the fact that if something were to happen we wouldn't be sacrificing our troops to save them? Who knows that his motives are. Could be to just bring negativity towards the USA.

The youth of that day was going to burn the country down if things didn't change. The Vietnam War was going on far too long because of LBJ & his carpet bombing campaign. You can always go back & watch those old black & white film footages of the late 60's early 70's of protest in the streets & on college campuses. Those were NOT good days for America.

the carpet bombing campaign might have worked if the US was actually bombing enemy targets with strategic value instead of rice paddies and "suspected vehicle parks"

I agree, our politicans are lucky that they aren't doing the same now days.

Things really heated up tensions & tore the country apart was when the national guard shot "real" bullets & killed some college kids at Kent State University. That was what pissed a nation off when that went down.

#VFL, you're typically pretty objective, but Obama has destroyed the credibility of the US during his tenure. Either from backing the wrong horse (Libya, Palestine, Syria) or from a complete lack of action (Ukraine, Egypt, Iran, Syria again).

People like to say Bush 43 destroyed the image of America in the world. But the world certainly knew one thing, that America would have their back if they needed it. And he was not going to back down.

These days our allies have to second guess whether or not the United States will stand by them when push comes to shove.

Yeah, I'm not quite sure what his point is either, although I do know that he has supported closer ties with the US in the past. Upon Obama's recent visit, Poland promised to start spending more GDP on defense, so maybe this comment is just an attempt on his part to rationalize that decision to a peer(s) who might not be too excited about that decision. Honestly, I have no clue.

Agreed, but why make corporations pay any tax? It just gets passed down to the consumer anyway.

2 Stop spending money to put people in jail and then allowing another person to profit off of their incarceration. I agree except, just make drugs legal and regulate like hard liquor.

3 Transparency in our gov: the phrase we all came to love under Obama. It's not even close to happening and never will.

Yep, never will happen.

4 stop funding and spreading weapons throughout the world.

5 election reform: you vote and you get a percentage or two knocked off of your income tax. He'll make it worth going to vote!

Agreed, except I would go the other way. No incentives but put in requirements for registration. I would also set election day the next Saturday after April 15th.

That's how it appears on the outside I would agree. I have zero clue what our goverment does abroad and what we have said behind closed doors for the past two decades. For all I know, Obama could be taking steps to solve all these problems but none of it will ever see the light of day. This probably isn't the case but what we see is drastically different from the real facts and circumstances. However what I have noticed and what I have seen is our country and specifically republicans completely go out of their way to undermine EVERYTHING the man says or does. So to me the instability and second guessing of our allies starts and originates on our own soil with our own politicans.

Syria: What should he have done? He threaten them but didn't send Americans to die. I wouldn't have either.
So bush would he have bombed Assad and then sent thousands of Americans to another ME country? There is no correct way to fix or respond to those conflict zones.

I get what you're saying, it's easy to say. It's not easy to navigate when you're the president.

Yep.. That was a bad time . By far the worse I can recall during my lifetime.
