Now go watch under the banner of heaven and kneel and obey…..more fun truths about the Mormons

I wouldn't look to American Primeval for truth, although it has some horrible truth to it. There was no conflict with the US government after the Mountain Meadow Massacre, and the show had the Mormons slaughtering US soldiers to hide the truth, for example.

Who knows what really happened* but the Mormons were scared sh!+less of outsiders and the US government, and for good reason. It's human nature that scared people can do some really bad things.

*the MMM definitely happened, but what we don't know is what they knew about the caravan and what their motivations were. What I feel confident saying is that if Brigham Young were a true prophet, then this tragic mistake wouldn't have been made.

2 episodes left for me. Excellent show.

Side note: I don't understand when it became commonplace for episode runtimes of shows to be so inconsistent. Episode 2 is over an hour long, episode 3 is 36 minutes.

Not a fan honestly. Maybe I'm old school, but give me an hour long shows or 30 minute shows.

It's because it's streaming and they don't have to fit episodes into a TV schedule.

I love it. The old way meant you either cut good scenes or added bad scenes, just to make the time work.

We binge watched this about a week and a half ago. Watched it all in one night. Very well done for the most part. I think the show got the time period right.

There was no law, it was those who had power and resources and those looking for both.......... or simply to be left alone and live. The animals, the people, the land.......... All of it trying to kill you.

It was a place for dreamers/adventurers, those running from the law, those with nowhere to go and the indigenous trying to keep their ways and land.
