What's even worse is, according to the description, it would take place in modern day Manhattan. Now THAT is ruining the point of the original novel.

American Psycho is near perfection. Any remake would not only be terrible but it would also cheapen the original.

I liked the movie, but I interpreted the end differently in the film and novel. Movie it seemed pretty obvious that the murders never happened, novel I felt like the theme was that he could even confess to the crimes but the vapid yuppie culture would never notice, comprehend or acknowledge it. That's my take on it anyway.

I agree with your take.

IMO the apartment scene at the end supports the belief that the murders were real. Unless he hallucinated the apartment scene.
