An apology

My son just started his freshman year at UT. I graduated from UT in 01’.

So many great things about being a Vols fan so don’t let it dissuade you. But my best advice after a night like this, learn to pull your punches when we are riding high (last year). Because there have been more nights like these than otherwise for most of my adult life.

I’m sorry for disrespecting anyone who said we were gonna lose. I didn’t know no better, I’m just a 17 year old kid who just recently got into deep Vols fandom. This won’t happen again. My apologies for being naive and thinking we could actually do something right. I see why my father is a grumpy old man about the Vols now. Wont happen again.

I wish I could say this was unexpected or even that it upsets me. Like the old man told his family that when he died, he wanted the Vols football team to be his pall bearers so they could let him down one last time

If you find a good girl that is decent looking and a die hard Vols fan, marry her, because she will be faithful and loyal to you. You have to love them to follow them year after year. The 90’s were a special time for the Big Orange. We should expect it. Such a beautiful state with the Smoky Mountains and Cumberland Plateau, then we still have Memphis! Oh well. 2 out 3 is about 7 or 8 wins.
