I wonder if this is the beginning of the end for the WWE? Vince McMahon is a genius when it comes to the marketing of sports entertainment, but I've never cared for his involvement in the plot lines of the various WWE products. This stunt looks like it's a desperation move on his part to prop up ratings. I think it's failed miserably since the only people playing along are the people he pays to play along.

My guess is that the only real purpose of the angle is to rid the company of the "Mr. McMahon" character. His putting the ECW title around his own waist enraged enough people that I think he realizes it's time to get back behind the camera. Monday Night was a prelude to Kennedy taking over as the #1 heel on Raw.
