Nah, I thought it was pretty funny. Just a username (although I do have a habbit of cutting down all the trees in my lawn).

still unanimously dumb, unless we got some weird-ass uncontextual folk up in here

What in the world are you talking about? Izzo is one of the best coaches in the country and that stat just proves it. Go ahead and doubt/overlook an Izzo coached squad, that would be a mistake on your part

7 to 1, guess we shouldnt even show up. Pearl cant coach, team cant play, were like Rocky IV, WE CANT WIN!!

Elite Eight Appearances:

Tennessee=1.
Tom Izzo=7.

It shows clearly what a great coach/program can do recruiting 2 to 3 of the top 50 players year in year out versus a program with misc. coaches who never recruits any top 50 players. Not surprising at all. I am anxious to see how UT does over the next 5 years now that Bruce is finally recruiting 2 to 3 top 50 recruits each season. This elite 8/ final 4 finish will certainly help in that regard.

but the thing with Izzo is that he doesn't get two or 3 "top 50" kids a year!, thats a misconception... and before next years class when we have a McD's All-American coming in, we haven't had one of those grace us in East Lansing in 8 years (i think Shannon Brown was our last one) Izzo has done it with 3 and 4 star kids with a hard working mentality, and the key to that is the stability at the top.....

if you want an insane stat... have a look at Izzo's record is the 2nd half of an NCAA Weekend.....

in the 2nd half of a weekend tournament weekend (2nd round and Elite 8) Izzo is 14-2.. hence why we wouldn't swop our coach for anyone, I don't think there is a better coach in the nation on a two day turnaround...

the players get us thru the friday, the coaches get us thru the sunday

Honestly MSU isn't that good this year, and without Lucas they shouldn't be in the Elite 8. But Izzo is just such a phenomenal coach. It's pretty crazy.

One of the reasons for Izzo's success is his ability to recruit some of the nation's most talented high school players. During his time as head coach, Izzo has recruited eight McDonald's All-Americans (Mateen Cleaves - 1996, Jason Richardson - 1999, Zach Randolph - 2000, Marcus Taylor - 2000, Kelvin Torbert - 2001, Paul Davis - 2002 and Shannon Brown and Brandon Cotton - 2003). In addition, six of the last 11 Michigan Mr. Basketball award winners suited up for the Green and White (1999 - Richardson, 2000 - Taylor, 2001 - Torbert, 2002 - Davis, 2004 - Drew Neitzel, 2009 - Derrick Nix), while Shannon Brown won the 2003 Illinois Mr. Basketball Award.

But perhaps even more important to Izzo's success is his ability to take young talent and develop a player's skills, allowing him to grow as a player and go on to play professionally. Since 2000, Michigan State has had 11 players selected in the NBA Draft, including six first rounders (Mateen Cleaves - 2000 first round, Morris Peterson - 2000 first round, Jason Richardson - 2001 first round, Zach Randolph - 2001 first round, Andre Hutson - 2001 second round, Marcus Taylor - 2002 second round, Erazem Lorbek - 2005 second round, Shannon Brown - 2006 first round, Maurice Ager - 2006 first round, Paul Davis - 2006 second round, Goran Suton - 2009 second round). Ager, Cleaves, Davis, Richardson, Randolph and Taylor were all high school All-Americans, but Izzo took Hutson, Peterson and Suton, who were not ranked in the top 75 coming out of high school, and turned them into NBA talent. In addition, Izzo-recruit Charlie Bell played in the NBA during the 2001-02 season after signing a free agent contract. The past four seasons, he has been a key part of the Milwaukee Bucks' playing rotation. Alan Anderson, a member of the 2005 Final Four team, signed a free agent contract and played two years with the Charlotte Bobcats.

I don't know how you rate players but having 11 players drafted into the NBA in the time period we are discussing versus a coach who had 1 player drafted is a distortion.

If I'm correct, this translates to Izzo having been to the Elite Eight in about half of the seasons that he has been at Michigan St.

7 in 12 yrs

6 more final fours

he isnt a world beater in recruiting... just coaching.

Michigan State has a great program, its exciting to be playing them for a berth in the final four. Much more so than if we played Northern Iowa.

Had teams to go with those GREAT gameplans too tho. Admitted he's brilliant. He knows how to gameplan in a day and a half, that's for sure. IFF BP's gameplan is on par with what he had against OST, and we show up, we win. Two big IFF's there, but hey, "Were livin it up right now"

unanimously= complete agreement with everyone involved.

still (everyone is in agreement that this statement is) dumb, unless we got some weird-ass uncontextual folk up in here.

so he didn't use the word wrong. he was probably just wrong to assume everyone agreed with him.

I don't think this word "unanimously" means what you think it means

Inconceivable! ;)
