We had a visitor in the pool today. Anyone know what kind of turtle this is?

This one, I think has been living in my back yard for a few years. I've run across him (at least I think it's the same one), for the last three years.

Today, I thought it was dead. My dog had it cornered. I left the shell thinking the turtle has been an afternoon snack for my pooch. A while later, my wife text me the pic. It had somehow made it into the pool.

I'm not sure it could have gotten out of the pool on its own though, but who knows.

Yep. He was a mean one!

Looks like it.

I kinda view the one in my yard as a pet since I seem to run across him every year. Is that weird? Honestly, I was kinda pissed when I thought my dog had killed it.

No. 4 or 5 inches across seems about right. Box turtles were the first animals i saw have sex. It was tasteful

Turtles having sex is something I can't even visualize in my mind. Not that I'd want to. 😬

My kids asked for a pet turtle the other day. I told them catch one!

Show him this pic and tell him this is what happened to the last turtle that trespassed in your pool
