Mine is a pretty small pool. Lol.

I actually wonder if the turtle meant to get in the water or just kinda fell in. And I wonder if he's been in it before. I really have no idea how he would get himself out.

We used to have frogs get in ours when I was growing up.

Yeah, I've seen a few frogs in the skimmer baskets.

And a snake once, as I was reaching down to pull out the basket to empty it. I didn't even see it. My daughter was next to me at the time and yelled out at me just before I stuck my hand in.

I used to have a 3 legged dog who would jump into the pool and I would have to help him get out

The snake wouldn't have went well with most people!

Looks like it.

I kinda view the one in my yard as a pet since I seem to run across him every year. Is that weird? Honestly, I was kinda pissed when I thought my dog had killed it.

Box turtles need water for two reasons. To drink and to soak in. They can swim, but not very well. Deep water, they'll drown.

It was about that time I did some research on Google to determine what poisonous snakes look like. Lol.

According to my wife all snakes are poisonous! Ha. I caught a copperhead in our yard a couple of years ago and she was literally about to pass out. She'd even flip out over that turtle!

I once saw a snake slither into our garage while I was at the end of the road checking the mail..I couldn't find it and my wife to this day won't park in or go in the basement

I saw a large snake crossing the road this weekend over in Grainger County...I didn't swerve to hit it because I read once that the government set up a sting operation and fined people for purposely running over animals

Interesting and good to know. It was in deep water so I guess it was lucky my wife and niece fished it out.

I tried to miss a black snake the other day, but it flipped right back under me. I only hit the back part of it.

I just don't tell my wife. I found a gecko in her louffa (sp?). You take that to the grave or you find a new house.
