Anarchy zones in the US

This is just another example of a lazy and divisive President grasping for straws by trying to distract people from the failure of his Coronavirus response (200,000 dead).

All 200,000 would be alive today if we had only elected Hillary. .....except for George Floyd, of course.

How f***** is a country when the president declares he lost its largest city to "anarchy" as a political ploy?

NYC reacts to ‘anarchist’ label from Trump’s DOJ with a big Bronx cheer: ’An anarchist district? What the f--k?’

He sends federal troops into cities to try to restore order and you guys call him an unconstitutional dictator. Then you claim he's the one that lost the cities to anarchy. SMDH...

The same on every single issue.

Trump declared that "he lost" the city, or you're just blowing keyboard flatulence and then back-peddling when called on it?

"Local government not Trump's jurisdiction! Fascist dictator! Remove the Feds!"

Also: "...he lost [the country's largest city] to 'anarchy'..."

How duplicitous and stupid. It's not his jurisdiction, but its fate is his responsibility.

You seem unnecessarily overwrought... ---

The political ploy:
The designation means that these cities are at risk of losing federal funding and grants. The New York Post reports that White House budget director Russ Vought is set to issue guidance to federal agencies on withdrawing funds from the cities in less than two weeks.

I'm calm and content.

I quoted your post. Just post any quote from Trump where he says that he lost the cities to their supposed fates, and I'll apologize. Otherwise, you're ignorant political commentary stands on its own to be judged.

As quoted earlier, the withdrawal of funds is tied in part to democrat mayors refusing to prosecute rioters, but of course, Trump's the one who "lost" the cities. <Eyeroll>

(And if you want to falsely claim someone is "overwrought", try not starting the conversation with "How ****** is a country..." Talk about a drama queen. lol)

Nice post hoc ergo Procter hoc. At least you aren’t quite as dense as your posts indicate.

I'm glad you're well. Do you agree with NYC being designated an "Anarchist Jurisdiction" based upon the stated criteria from the DOJ?

There are no "feds"/ "troops" in NYC ---What are you going on about? My question to you --since you are participating in this discussion is: Why was NYC designated a "Anarchist Jurisdiction?"

I'm not going on about anything. I pointed out the dumbassery of you intimating that the state of the Dem cities should be considered Trump's fault, considering that the left's stance all along has been that he needs to keep his federal hands out of it.

He tried sending troops into several of the cities you claimed were his responsibility, and the left lost their minds over it. He's repeatedly offered federal assistance, and they told him to shove it.

But by God, they want the federal money.

I asked these questions earlier. Perhaps you can answer. Is it local police that are being "defunded"? Is it the Federal responsibility to fund them, or local? Are federal grants and funds usually offered with strings attached?

"Anarchist jurisdiction" --sounds like an oxymoron ? But in this age in which we find ourselves, I suppose it's perfectly fine. If Orwell were alive he'd take to drink and never write another word.

I haven't followed it close enough to answer.
Para ti...
Criteria for evaluating each city is below:

  • Whether a jurisdiction forbids the police force from intervening to restore order amid widespread or sustained violence or destruction.
  • Whether a jurisdiction has withdrawn law enforcement protection from a geographical area or structure that law enforcement officers are lawfully entitled to access but have been officially prevented from accessing or permitted to access only in exceptional circumstances, except when law enforcement officers are briefly withheld as a tactical decision intended to resolve safely and expeditiously a specific and ongoing unlawful incident posing an imminent threat to the safety of individuals or law enforcement officers.
  • Whether a jurisdiction disempowers or defunds police departments.
  • Whether a jurisdiction unreasonably refuses to accept offers of law enforcement assistance from the Federal Government.
  • Any other related factors the Attorney General deems appropriate.
A taste: Balkanize the US into dozens of individually weak city-states centered around economically integrated metropolitan areas. Replace the Federal government with a weaker EU-like structure meant only to foster cooperation and cross-border trade rather than govern----USA USA USA
