And the delusion continues

Playoffs for this sport can't get here soon enough. And by playoffs, I mean a real playoff system with more than 4 teams.

I hate Bama as much as the next Vol fan, but I was d*%$ sure pulling for them last night. For one, I think I dislike ND even more than Bama and I have no idea why considering we don't play ND. Maybe it's the whole "We're too important to join any conference" thing or perhaps it stems from some built up childhood animosity I developed back in the day when they were a perennial power and everyone started wearing that stupid boxing midget on everything (classic case of bandwagon loserism), IDK. Secondly, when the SEC was sitting at a 3-3 bowl record, suddenly articles & some talking heads start going on about how the SEC was so much weaker than it has been in the recent past, how it's promotion as the best football conference in the country wasn't true anymore, just something die hard SEC fans were perpetuating to make themselves feel falsely superior and spewing garbage about how ND beating AL would prove that the SEC's era of dominance over the rest of the football world was finally coming to a well deserved end. Blah, blah, blah. Now here we are, maybe a week later and the SEC sits with a 6-3 bowl record and a seventh consecutive NC.

So, I guess that nonsense has been put to rest. At least until this time next year anyway. Hopefully, by then, we will get to represent our conference proudly by winning a bowl game. Any bowl win would make me happy atp. If we can't represent our conference, at least others have stepped up during our absence, which has forced a little surprising positivity and pride out of me for our conference partners. Even for those programs that I have resigned myself to hate for the other 364 days of the year like Alabama.

UGA has delusional fans? I don't believe that one bit.

The OP for whatever reason always has something against UGA fans. He finds the loons and then calls out the entire fanbase.

Any fan referring to another fan base as delusional is akin to a pot calling a kettle black.

We have delusional fans. You have delusional fans. Every fan base has delusion. To pretend otherwise is folly.

Bama lost to tamu who lost to LSU who lost to Florida who lost to Georgia who lost to South Carolina who lost to...Florida? You can't make that argument this year man..

I didn't make any argument; he's the one saying ony A&M and Oregon deserved to play Alabama last night.

Give Saban a month to prepare for UGA and the it would be slightly better than the championship game against ND. You don't want Saban to have that much time to prepare for you.

This right here. Our best shot at him was at the SECCG. Give Saban a month to prepare and he will kick your azz.

If they stunk this year perhaps you could explain why they were in the big game and won in a major way while we all sat at home without even a crap bowl

I'm not in anyway a Bama fan but if we had their History over the last few years , It would be a non stop party around here

Screw Bama, I hate em. They stink!

I understand the outrage, if we were up there I'd be pissed too. I think the over-coverage of Notre Dame before the game made SEC fans react the way they did after the game. I got so tired of hearing about them and how their defense was a legit, SEC caliber defense. Teo winning all those awards was a total travesty. He wouldn't even start at Bama or Georgia. Talent wise, we're just as good as ND imo, coaching is another story.

I watched several ND games this year that were just terrible. The Michigan game was like watching two crappy high school teams that can't move the ball. It took everything they had plus the luck of the Irish to beat Pitt. They could not compete in any phase of the game monday night. Compare that to the SEC where Bama lost to TAMU at home and LSU & Georgia gave them a run for their money.

I can't wait for a playoff! We can finally get rid of these frauds and have a good title game!

Actually, ND had more of a right to be there than Bama did. ND did everything they were supposed to do. Bama didn't even control its own destiny.

The fact that Bama showed out to be that much better just goes to show how backwards and wrong the whole system is.

If you honestly think Notre Dame should not have been in the title game, there is no point in actually playing the season.

They're probably right, too bad UGA blew their chance just like they always do in typical UGA fashion. :)
