Fish... barrel... your post.

Yeah... and we had the second string in the majority of the second half.

Florida had VANDERBILT... V A N D E R B I L T whupped in the first half, yet tebow played on. My point is that urbie has no class yet still gets all the love... I just don't get it

I said this in another thread, Asking if anybody else noticed that both florida and georgia's backup qb has received very little playing time this year. Makes me wonder if Meyer is leaving.

We played our second and third team the whole second half. Our second and third string defense was scored on at will by Memphis. I think both teams got what they wanted. We were able to get our backups some experience and there starters were able to make plays in the second half (on our backups). Of course they wanted us to keep it close but CLK ain't about that.

We also went for an onside kick up 3 TDs in the first half...or was it 2?

Not only that, but we went for it 4 times on 4th down.
I just think you picked the wrong time to comment on other teams rubbing it in...

I dunno. In our case, Kiffin needs to know what the benchers can do against real game action competition. Going for it on 4th down on your own 35 is not rubbing it in. Gutsy.. maybe.. but definitely unconventional. Besides, it was in the first half.. My comment was more aimed at how the gators had the game well in hand near the end, yet the starters were still in. IMO there is a big difference in doing that vice going for it on 4th down in the 2nd quarter. What should we have done, punt just to satisfy convention? Take a knee on 2nd down?

I'm just saying. There's no reason to attack someone else for attempting a 4th down conversion when the game is well in hand, when we did the same thing 4 times.

Sometimes the pot really enjoys calling the kettle black, regardless of how black said pot is.

OK.. last time. we did it in the first half. FU did it at the end of the game WITH THE STARTERS. Again, I ask you.. in the first half, what should we have done? Punted, (and why) or just start taking a knee?

You get the last word.

The idea was to put Memphis away ASAP so the second and third team players could get some playing time and that is what Kiffin did. I realize that the play calling is much more aggressive and makes a lot of the fanbase uncomfortable. Fact is, if Kiffin called off the dogs, as you think he should have, the second and third team would have lost the game in the second half.

I have absolutely no problem with a coach "running up the score." After all, it is the losing team's responsibility to stop their opponent; the winning team has no responsibility to stop themselves.

Why do you think that?

As far as Urban goes, I wouldn't say its classless, but it is pretty dumb to leave in your starting QB like that.

I'm not uncomfortable with the call. Not by any means. I love the fact it was called.
I just can't be hypocritical about it.

Agree.

Also, I seem to remember a game a couple of years ago that we pulled in the second stringers and had to go back with the starters. Kiffin wanted to get everyone in the game last night.

If you're Vandy....stop 'em. It's called trying to run the clock on a typically high-percentage play.

I agree McCat. Last year people on this forum attacked Urban Meyer for kicking a field goal with the game in hand against Miami.

some of you are truly delusional, blinded by your hatred for another team. Tebow wants to play every down and with all he's accomplished he has more than earned the right to do so. Brantley has just as much game experience as any other back up to a Senior heisman front-runner.

*waits for gator nation to cry foul when Tebow gets his brains knocked out late in the fourth*
