And with all of this monitoring of cellphone calls and the internet...

Except that the surveillance occurred before the bombing. They interviewed the guy and there was not enough to go to a judge to seek a warrant so as to listen to content.

If you want to be mad, be mad they missed what was in the public domain on YouTube. The Jihad vids might have been enough to get a warrant and even led to a search and finding the bombs.

In the end its still a human endeavor to detect terrorists it will never be perfect.

This aged well. So Youtube allowed the Boston Bombers post on their platform, but are more active in deplatforming conservative voices.

I'm not seeing the analogy.

How many videos did they post? Did they have any views? Did they call on people to engage in insurrection and riots at the capitol and to kill government leaders? Did they do this over a sustained period of time, garnering support and cult-like adherence to their proposals for violence by thousands of people?

I personally don’t give a $$$$ if the government monitors my internet, calls, text etc. if it means they can catch terrorists or any other serious attacks on this country then I’m all for it. My life isn’t that exciting and they’d realize that pretty quick

It's all fun and games until they bust you for breaking a law you didn't know existed.
