And you guys think a better coach will come here....

So you disagree with me and believe that was a brilliant call during a tight game?

I wouldn't go with brilliant, but with our kicker looking like he was kicking concrete blocks and no way you trot your offense out on 4th and 19 you roll the dice. The execution/blocking is what killed us. You can't let a free runner and whiff on a block like that. That caused him to have to pull up and underthrow.

If we pull that off, CBJ would be the greatest thing since sliced bread and everybody would be touting our gun-slinging, gambling coach. It didn't work so we move on.

We lost this game because we don't have a QB that is healthy or worth a dang on our roster.

After what just happened? All the money in the world wouldn't bring someone here to come away hating CFB for the rest of their lives. At least the one we have is pointing us in the right direction with recruiting...

Seriously what great mind would look at what they saw tonight and say,"I can fix this! I will leave my current situation which is pretty good and take over this... atrocity of an offense."

Blame the playcalling but this isn't Madden or some CFB game. If my player can't make the reads and throws 2 INTs early in the game then clearly we need to lean on the run game (which has been pretty good).... and then our true Freshman QB takes a sack at the 1 yard line.... blame the coach? was Bajakian up in the coaches box with an XBox controller making Dobbs do that? why not throw the ball away? that can be taught but you can't expect an 18 yr old to do that... and I bet you could take almost any true freshman QB, put him in that situation and he would do the same thing! At this time last yr he was gashing up HS teams and probably NEVER had to throw the ball away...

My point is that as a Vol fan you need to ACCEPT WHERE THIS TEAM IS RIGHT NOW. Another new coaching staff. A tough schedule that ran this team into the ground. And another losing season. Hate it as much as you want. But to want a change esp this early just starts the cycle over again....

There are so many bad arguments in this post, I don't know where to begin. I guess I'll just point out two.

1. Saying we should keep the current crappy coach because of a fear that no better coach may come is a loser, defeatist attitude that has kept this program down for years.

2. "Having change this early, just starts the cycle over again." No, not if you get a good coach. Still, arguing that it's better to keep a bad collection of coaches to screw up another 4 year in order to maintain some kind of stability of crappy coaching, instead of ridding yourself of the problems bringing you down, is absurd.

It's simple. If they suck, get rid of them and hire someone who doesn't. This philosophy works fairly well for any person who runs an organization or business that I've known.

We are talking about Butch's 1st year here... not his 5th... your arguments would make more sense in the long term but not right now... no desirable coach will come here for any amount of money if they can't garner support through a rough first year having not even been on the job for 365 days...

And yes it's a cycle right now.... we have more coaching staffs on payroll than any other team in the country

Quit defending these sorry-azz coaches UT keeps hiring. If a decent coach doesn't want to come here then UT needs to leave the SEC and go to the Big East.

This is so dumb. The whole vandy secondary was gutted and you run the entire time? Horrible play calling.

Might have something to do with throwing two interceptions early with a true freshman and actually being better at running the football last night than passing it. Maybe that's why we ran the football?
