Cal has got yall drinkin too much blue Koolaid. We have 4 starting Seniors. So what KY blew us out last year, they have a new coach and system. Cal has never blown out Bruce, and it won't happen this year. We play well against cal's system, and we are more battle tested. There is no way KY beats us this year. Stop watching ESPN!
I needed a good laugh and your posts in this thread came through for me.
Go position by position and explain your matchups.
PG: Wall and Maze a good matchup, pretty even. With added depth Maze can loosen up, and play better.
SG: I'm guessing Miller will start. Hopson beats Miller all day.
SF: Depending on which JP shows up this year I think JP will get the job done on the freshman.
F: Tyler and Stevenson is a very good matchup but Tyler wins.
C: Patterson can own Chism at times, but I'm banking on Chism to improve in his senior year to make it interesting.
I know you guys that call yourselves vol fans will rip me and, say there is no way this will happen.

The funniest thing in this post is saying John Wall and Bobby Maze are even.
A close second is saying Perry Stevenson will start over DeMarcus Cousins. Also, Perry Stevenson sucks.
It's flawed logic to just think your guy has improved, but the other guy hasn't.
Any team with Melvin Goins and Bobby Maze running the point should consider themselves lucky to be ranked at all. They showed no signs of improving or maturing throughout the season last year, if anything it seemed like they took a step back. I hope I am wrong, but with bad defense and average at best PG play I don't see them having a very good season. You are way too low, this team should be more matured and ready to go and more geared to the Pearl run and gun game.

Miller also didn't take near as many shots as Hopson. I'm amazed nobody wants to face the fact that Hopson is no more than a poor man's Vincent Yarbrough. To be fair - he was playing against our genius defense - Scotty didn't get anything close to the looks Miller had. We just left him open all day - atleast in the 2nd game.. he may have had 1 contested shot he made.
