Last year the local cops raided a home with a no knock warrant and flash grenades. One was thrown into a baby crib and severely injured the child and though the dad was a dealer, there were no drugs in the home. The county is refusing to pay medical bills, thus the hacker group give them a choice to pay, or they'd sieze their assets and pay it. The YouTube video has been removed, but you can Google the story about habersham county Georgia. Touchy situation here right now.

I wonder if the parents have sued the county and if the county is fighting it. They did say they wanted to pay the bills but were prevented to by law.

Anonymous won't do anything. They haven't done anything in years. I'm guessing most of their top people are either hiding or have been taken down by the FBI.

The law of the land is the Constitution and they seem to have no problem breaking that.

They can do whatever the hell they want to do.

I'm just curious as to the truthfulness of the county. If they really want to help and the family sued, I wouldn't expect them to fight. Make a quick settlement and be done.

Last I heard on the local news was they were wanting the medical bills paid, but they weren't going to get it.

That's what the courts are for. The county seemed amenable to paying them under a court order.

I hate it for the kid, and I want the law to be active against drug dealers. However, I'm against no knock warrants. There was an elderly lady killed in Atlanta over that because they kicked in her door and she was scared and shot. They weren't even after her, and she died. There was a preacher in toccoa, ga ( next town from me) shot and killed by two cops in street clothes. He was in a shady part of town and they pulled guns, he's dead. (You can Google) I work with the wife of one of those cops, and it was wrong. Just a messy thing.

If police want to use no-knock warrants, they should be forced to deal with the consequences when they injure or kill an innocent person. I'm not talking about adding murder charges to the person they are looking for (which they love to do to make it someone else's fault), but if an officer causes injury or death then they should be looking at jail time and be opened up to financial responsibility for the victim. All this crap of them being protected by the city/county/state is ridiculous in situations like these.

No. No knock warrants should be unconstitutional. And there should be 0 charges against any person who shoots a cop after they break in their home.

Anyone who comes in my home unauthorized is getting a face full of buck shot.

I vaguely remember this story so maybe you can give more details. The way I remember it, the father wasn't a drug dealer but there was someone visiting (or staying with the family) that might have been. The police informant told the police that he bought drugs from that person (but it seems like the amount was really small). There were children's toys all over the yard, but the police didn't see them because they didn't bother to stake out the place. Instead, they did a full on SWAT raid at night and nearly killed a child in its' crib.

Yea, from what I've read and saw. I mean no disrespect to law enforcement, but I know a few of ours and they have a God complex here.

Sorry, half asleep on details. Some people I know who know the father said he did deal drugs, nothing racist intended, but he was Asian and they all pretty much know each other here.

Anonymous doesn't have "top guys". There is no structure, really. And yes, they've been active lately.

They shut down Cleveland's website after that cop killed Tamir Rice. That was in November.

For the sake of the lives of law enforcement officers, no-knock raids should be abandoned. There are very few circumstances in which a no-knock raid is the safe alternative. It usually puts them unnecessarily in harm's way.

Look at you, still clinging to your guns! Ole Barry would not be happy!
