anonymous threatens my county

No knock warrants are an outrage. The only thing the war on drugs has been successful at is destroying Liberty

And incarcerating a ton of blacks while simultaneously keeping them poor. LBJ is da bomb! Nixon iced the oppression cake.

Anonymous doesn't have "top guys". There is no structure, really. And yes, they've been active lately.

They shut down Cleveland's website after that cop killed Tamir Rice. That was in November.

Yes, they actually do have top guys and do have people calling the shots at times despite what you read in the media.

Anyone can shut down a website. It's incredibly easy if you have basic computer knowledge. The "Anonymous" members that took down cleveland's website are probably middle school nerds.

No disrespect, but I've been building computers since I was a kid and I know some basics of hacking. "Shutting down a website" is anything but simple and is very dependent on the site's security. Sure, shutting down some local business's website isn't terribly difficult, but shutting down, say, VolNation would be pretty difficult and take some work from multiple minds to not only 404 the site, but to maintain the shutdown as well.

Also, Anonymous doesn't really have a hierarchy. It's kind of the point.

A group of kids can do a DNS attack and take something down. It doesn't take an army. And while anonymous doesn't have a true leader, they absolutely have different tiers in their "organization."

You could buy ddos from silk road for a couple o hundred bucks depending on how long you wanted it down.

But that's useless unless your target network and/or machine has a trojan infection already in place.

Nah, that's the beauty of a ddos attack, it doesn't take an 'infection' - just a whole bunch of bots to 'hit' the target.

Very similar to what we saw on NSD a few years ago right here on VN. Freak had to strip the server down (if memory serves) because so many people were trying to get in - the shear volume of requests brought the whole site to it's knees.

What you would have to have is access to a botted network of computers to hammer an url or IP - that's why you have to pay for it.

Oh, you're talking about botting a bunch of hits to simply take a website down for as long as you can sustain the barrage. Yeah, haha. You would need at least a dozen machines to just do that. to any website worth taking down, and that might buy you an hour/half.

I bought a new laptop a few weeks ago and decided to see if I could remember my steam password. One thing led to another, and I found the old server on CS:Source I used to play on when I was like 15. It's now pretty much full of drunk 20somethings who spend more effort talking bull**** over the mic than caring about playing, lol.

Do you know the origins of Anonymous? It was just schoolboy vandalism-type stuff. One of the first things they did was take down a game called Habbo Hotel, cause they thought the mods were racist. It's called the great Habbo Raid of 2006. The events are documented on Encyclopedia Dramatica. It's definitely NSFW and would offend the religious and PC, so I'm sure you would enjoy it.

Oh god... the words used to describe Cosby at the beginning of the first raid subsection. That's fantastic. What a hilariously written entry.

I love ED.

Just watched the Hunter Moore (he had the revenge porn site) doc on Netflix. It's vile but so satisfying because Anonymous declared war on him and then proceeded to ruin his life and thwart the launch of his 2nd site where he was planning on including the home addresses of his victims.
