Like the lyrics from Johnny Cash’s Ring of Fire, Tennessee is going “Down, Down, Down”.
They are 2-5 in the last 7 games. Like past posts, they keep shooting 3 pointers. Like the Kentucky game A&M shot 20 more free throws than Tennessee. That was because in the second half, we committed 6 fouls in less than two and a half minutes. A&M was in the double bonus with 10:50 left in the game.
They continue to prove that they have been overrated. I don’t see much hope for the SEC and NCAA tournaments.

It appears as if some UT fans are not happy unless the team(s) do poorly so they can come on to Volnation to complain and paint the darkest picture that they can. Losing on the road to a very good team without two starters is not unexpected. And having a chance to win in that situation is admirable.

Explain to me why every time I post something, I have to get a sarcastic reply.
first time on Volnation, huh? Welcome. Snide remarks are located here^, here>, here v, and here<.

Please refrain from feeding the trolls, aka having thin skin and replying to every remark you feel personally attacked by.

It gets to old. There was nothing in my post that wasn’t factual, Dude.

tommydin, many people can't handle the truth. It is understandable to be off a little when you are missing two starters. However, that doesn't excuse poor execution, poor shooting (especially free throws), etc. from the entire team. Hopefully everyone will be healthy come tournament time and they can put things together for a good run. Barnes' teams have not historically done that, but there's always hope.

being overrated is not factual, its an opinion. The pollsters disagree. There's your proof its not a fact.

Another suggestion to you is maybe don't start threads if you aren't prepared for your statements to be criticized. After all this is a public forum, and NONE of us ever completely agree with ANYTHING.

Just trying to help here, DUDE.

I don't disagree with that. Losing is always disappointing. I have thought we were overrated all year due to the fact that we can't seem to get the offense going on a consistent basis. Now our D is suffering from mental fatigue of losing because we can't score.

But these are just my opinions and not all factual.

We still going to the big dance though. I remember as a kid from like 1990-1997 we never made the NCAA tournament and how I dreamed of seeing our bball team in it. These days it’s almost a regular occurrence let’s not take that for granted. GBO!!

I didn't see anyone slacking off in any of these losses. As long as they are trying I will not write them off. When Phillips, JJJ return, and the 3's start dropping, they will be a tough out.

If we can get JJJ and Phillips healthy soon, I believe we can make a run. Many of those losses were on the road against fairly good teams. Funny looking back, after the win over Texas, I thought this team had figured something out. Offense was consistent and Olivier was looking like the man down low. Gotta get it turned around though in the next few games as time is literally running out.

We are in a tailspin but it just takes one game to turn the tide. My hope is JJJ and Phillips return Saturday an ease back into the rotation while reducing Santi’s minutes. Then win two of three and maybe one in the SEC tourney to build some momentum before the dance.

The worst period in the history of Tennessee basketball isn't a baseline comparison. 4 of our last 5 coaches who had more than a year, have made the sweet 16 and brought in NBA draft picks as recruits. We should be over Wade Houston/O'Neil by now.

We just beat Alabama then dropped two in a row. I wouldn't say it just takes one game.
For whatever reason, the team is lost. It has nothing resembling a reliable basket maker. Chandler left and with him, that aspect of our offense.

If Dillione is excellent on offense next season and ends up one and done, the 'what ifs" will echo loudly. Fair or not.

I hope you are right, but recently the 3’s haven’t been dropping. You can’t live on making 3’s.
