The only way I think a player should be cut is if the players is told of the possibility by the coah before he enrolls.

I'm sure there is an "oh by the way if you suck we'll cut you and give your scholarship to someone who may not suck as much" clause in the papers they sign. Still not right. Nor does it appear to be effective except in a few cases. Ole Miss is case in point. They're dumping 2* & 3* players for "better" 2*& 3* players without any real improvement. Sure, Bama uses this to better effect because they have 4 & 5*s on the bench, but they exception not the rule.

I agree with your point but I aslo can see it from the coaches standpoint. Better players equal wins and job security.

I understand the point, but the system is set up now where ability to bend the rules is more important than evaluating talent. Current rules or not, that isn't right.

Right or not, the schools are not going to stop doing it and the AA will not make them stop. I understand it stinks but it's he system we have with the 85 rule and the money the coaches make. Just give the kids a way out.
