I really don't think we lost Jimmy because of Randy. If that was the deal breaker then Jimmy's the biggest fool of the family.

It really has been fun listening to the Little Rock sports radio shows today. One call after another whining about Mitch and how he is turning his back on the state and what-not. Even if he doesn't come to TN I am enjoying the hell out of this just for the pain and agony it is causing over here in Razorbackland! :yahoo:

caller from Springdale just called The Zone (midday sportstalk in LR) and said the word out of Springdale HS is that Gus Malzahn, Andrew Norman and Mustain are headed to UT. Caller said that that is the word at the HS today.

I don't believe the Malzahn/ Norman piece of it myself, but think that the whole thing is getting interesting.

I'm more excited about the possibility of getting Mustain's coach. Coach Malzhan's offenses are producing about 7000 yards a year and he is definitely an outside the box thinker. We could definitely use someone who thinks outside the Krispy Kreme box.

I have to be honest...it's pretty funny to look at some of the recruiting boards going on right now. Florida is pretty sure that Mitch is interested in them. Florida State is pretty sure he is making an official visit to them in January. Arkansas if making "all the adjustments" needed to secure his commitment. And the Gamecocks are sure that Spurrier has had some good conversations with Mustain. On top of that, rivals is saying that "surely Notre Dame is now his top pick." Um...can you say 'circus'?

Yes true about Rivals. But they end the story by saying that Tennessee is the one Hog fans should be worried about.

To remind you how big of a deal this is to these hog fans over here. This was the lead story on the TV news last night and this morning. It really hit the fan when they said that most of this could all be traced to Cutcliffs return to UT. They showed a nice picture of Phil and Cut shaking hands during the last ole miss game that Cut coached, I just wonder how many TVs were shot or broken last night!

"Some have said that he will likely stick with the Hogs, particularly if his high school coach, Gus Malzahn, is hired onto the Razorbacks staff."

What rumors are saying that Malzhan is thinking of coming to UT?

I am sure that this is driving them batty over there in Arky. Most of those people are still p.o'd about the fumble in 1998.

If i were talking to Mustain, I would tell him this: Mr. Mustain, I'm sure you feel like the whole state of Ark is on your shoulders. It probably is. And because it is, this should concern you. No doubt, you could help thier program as you could any program. But a program that has sunk to the level of Arkansas is not in need of a high ranking QB to save the day. If they are grasping for a root to hold on to before they fall, it's going to take more than you to keep the program from slipping into the drink. I'm sure your honored by the notion and no doubt there are some great emotion tied to it. However, your present situation just epitomizes the management and leadership problems that exist in the program and I don't think the AD is going to fire himself to fix it. Are YOU going to fix the program in one or two years and save Nutt's job? Maybe you can. But is it fair to you and your family to be the sacrificial lamb and miss out on the development that will potentially secure you and your family a livelyhood for generations. You may one day be selling cars in Ark and all the good-ole-boys will slapping your back telling you they appreciate what you did for Ark, but deep inside they/ you will imagine what you could have been had you been developed into a first round draft choice by the one who has proven that he can do it. I would tell Ark, you got yourself into this mess, you can get yourselves out. As for me, I'm doing what is best for me and my families future. A little pain now, but in a few years it will all be worth it. Broyles will be retired, Nutt will be someplace else, and someone you don't even know will be coaching the hogs.

TBALLVOL, Are you one of those people who calls me during dinner and tried to sell me on a hot investment? You sound like someone who could sell refrigerators to eskimos.

Hillbilly, I tried car sales once. I wasn't much of a closer. I think they all noticed the drool escaping my open mouth when I handed them the pen.

Another Goof Up by the fine state of Arkansas!! Yesterday when Mustain was being presented the Gatorade Player of Year award at his high school, he was also being presented several other awards and citations. When the local State Senator was presenting a Sentorial Citation to Mitch he joked that his secratary commented that if Mustain did not attend the UofA that they wanted the Award back. Needless to say the audience in the packed gym gasped in horror at these comments. The poor Senator had no clue that Mustain had reconsidered his commitment and was simply joking. Well it was only funny to us local UT fans up here and if Mustain decides not to go to UofA that Senator is likely to leave the state as well. Hilarious.
