I was browsing the schedue for next year, squeak by Florida and Arkansas, and 12-0 is feasable. After all we lost to Florida by 1 with a int td called back on a bogus penalty. No Ainge or Coker against Arkansas. It really can happen.

Maybe Arkansas won't have McFadden or Jones.

okay...so here's the break down IMO...we'll get better (especially on offense with a year of cut. under our belt again for ainge and crompton/receivers)...defense is a wait and see as to how we'll line up (depth chart & starters)...so the game-by-game breakdown:

cali. - we win if m. lynch and the studs the all-american studs they have on defense are gone... IF they're back this will be a TOUGH game (they will be highly ranked so it'll be a top notch game at the start of the season)

southern miss. - easy win unless we bend over and put our head up our butt :fool: (air force game...need i say more)

florida - could go either way. easily our toughest game...why? 1) it's in gainesville 2) tebow and co. will have a year's experience under their belt with the ole "open mouth insert foot" coach. i have a feeling they'll be out to prove the world wrong that they can score big on offense next yr. ...possibly a "L"

northern illinois - no garret wolfe...need i say more... "W"!

georgia - win...why? 1) 'cause it's in Knox-vegas and 2) ut just has more talent and is basically better than uga

mississippi st. - if i were a betting man i'd say...ummm..."W"!

alabama - uh...this one's tricky...'bama doesn't have BAD/NO talent per se but they always play us close...their passing game will be good...depends on who takes over for Darby. I think the Vols win this one as well.

south carolina - close but we win

louisiana-lafayette - do you have to ask? WIN

arkansas - probably our second toughest game...why? we sucked at stopping the run and nothing really screams at me to think we're going to make a total 180 and silence mcfadden & jones...also, a better mustain may prove costly. this year they are just too one dimensional and i'm surprise they almost UPSET LSU. that darn "wildcat" formation...i hate backyard football crap like that. it's in K-Town so I'll go with the Win

Vanderbilt - WIN

Kentucky - WIN

AT WORST NEXT YEAR: 9-3 (Losses to Cali., Florida, Arkansas)

AT BEST NEXT YEAR: 11-1 (Loss to Florida)

i don't even want to think about what we will do next year. i think we will be better, but it's going to be hard to improve our record by more than 1 win.

If Florida can win 11 games with that crap they call an offense, then it is conceivable that the Vols can improve considerably over the offseason.

yep, and there were predictions that UT would be a contender for the BCS NC before the 2005 season.

I hate when people bring up the blow to the head call. Was it questionable? Yes! But remember the really bad call that called back the Florida punt return? YES! They evened out.

A year under Cut? While this may be true and he was a huge upgrade over Randy. I still remember that people were calling for Cut's predictable head before Ole Miss came to his rescue! I like the guy but he is not a cure all!

Me personally i see the glass half full. So im going to go out on a limb here. This year was a 360 of last year, although last year was definatly a fluke. We def. have a shot at going undefeated next year, if we stay healthy, if meachem sticks around, if cut sticks around, and our defense plays like it should (ill give em a break this year due to inexperiance)but i also said they would go undefeated this year as i HOPE they will every year.
