Who knows what issues she has. Maybe she had a bad experience as a teen or maybe she has daddy issues. Could be a hundred different things

What puzzles me more than anything is the double standard against male teachers that get caught fooling around with their female students. It's as if people believe that teenage girls don't ever get desires and find themselves attracted to older men. I'm 24 years old , so it wasn't so long ago when I was in high school and I can clearly recall girls in my grade saying they thought some of the male teachers were hot, particularly the head football coach. So yes, teenage girls hormones are raging just as hard as their male peers hormones are. So why does our society act as if girls couldn't possibly willingly hook-up with their teachers? Don't get me wrong, I totally agree that teachers shouldn't be getting "involved" with their students, but I don't think male teachers should be getting harsher punishments than the women. If you are going to throw the book at some, throw the book at everyone!

It's because of our patriarchal society. Women are on the low end of the totem pole. Black men had the right to vote before women. Men make more money even when experience and school is the same, even within areas where women hold 70% of the jobs like teachers women make about 70-80% of what men make. I know as a male in the healthcare industry I make more than the women I work with that have the same experience as I, but at the same time I'm very good at my job. Men have always had it better than their female counterparts.

Question I have is what are the ages of the "victims" and if over 16 they are not victims.

Women are getting some harsh sentences for these acts too

If I didn't read it wrong they're 17, but students which make what she done illegal, even if 16 is the age of consent.

This is at least as much about the "authority figure" aspect as the age issue. The teacher-student thing is pretty much verboten in and of itself.

I don't have the answers, but for some states to have consent at 14 while others at 18 seems dumb to me. Also, can't see how a person is more physically and emotionally mature at 18 than 3 days shy of that 18th birthday. Perhaps, something to do with blowing out that 18th candle? I'm not sure.

Not arguing the legality. If I was one of the boys no freeking way I'd cooperate and talk.

WHERE THE HELL WERE THESE GOOD LOOKING TEACHERS WHEN I WAS IN SCHOOL?:)

On a serious note, the teacher (aka; adult, authority figure) has the responsibility for any and all relationships she has with any student.

I guess the cops or parents scare them into in most cases. Maybe not, but I wouldn't think they'd really be in any trouble.
