Pruitt has really laid a foundation quickly for his defense. Coach Fitz is earning his $$$ too. The physical development of the young DL is amazing!

But about these LBs:
I've watched Mater Dei (#1 ranked team in high school) play- 3 times this year. Their defense is legit! But i kid you not...all 3 of these Whitehaven boyz would start for the Mater Dei Monarchs. No joke...

JJ Peterson is beginning to heal physically. He'll get a full offseason of improvement without setback. Crouch...can do it all. Harrison...needed to learn OLB. Watch out next year. Henry T...leader of the defense next year as a Sophomore.

Throw in Veterans like K Bennett and D Johnson who are working into maybe earning a little money down the road.

Yeah Our front 7 is really shapping up!

The 350 lb freshman who will redshirt this year will be a key to the DLine next year. A year of conditioning and more strength training should set him up to be very effective

Closer to 320 lbs now, but hes not alone there. Kingston Harris is another 6'4 310 pounder. Garland at 310 as well. Then ofcourse the starter Emerson will only be a RS Sophomore next season.

I knew all about Too'too from a friend that lives a block from De La Salle High and been a big supporter of their's for years. The kid is a leader on and off the field. He could become an Al Wilson type, he's that kind of youngster. With that kind of leadership as a player the sky is the limit for this defense going forward. One of my favorite defensive plays of the year was against UK, the goal line end of game series. Loved the 4th down stop but take a look at the 3rd down stop. Too'too breaks down into perfect LB form steps in that hole like a grown axx man and put the whooom on 'em!!! Every time I watch that play makes me want to run through a wall. Almost as good and right up there with EB knocking Knowsho Moreno up into the stratosphere. LOL

AGREED
Hadn't seen that type of nature from him till then.
Don't get me wrong, he's been balling all year. But that was a "Im more of a man than you" type of hit!

That type of physicality will turn our defense into a terror...

That play was huge. And kinda overlooked cause they still had one more stop. And that one was spectacular too! Nigel Warrior staying with the play and taking out the pitch man won us that game, imo.

His coach told them if they wanted the win they had to go take it. And he did. ( :50 mark of the video below)

I was thinking the same thing. If you look at who’s returning next year....oh boy.

This & we are pretty healthy for this time of the year. I remember having 19 one time starters out when playing Missouri.
This is a good omen for current S&C & the way Pruitt practices players. Hope Bucanahan is back next year although we will be pretty strong at DB's.

No. People keep saying that for some reason.

He's a tad bit biggerthan Jeremy Banks and has played defense longer. Just as athletic too. His teammates are so big that you think he'll play a different position.

McDonald is 6'2 220 right now... French and Eason 240-250.

McDonald is just as physical as those guys but more athletic and explosive. Him or Eason could start beside Henry T come the fall... by then McDonald is probably 230.

Henry T is 6'3 235 for reference sake...
I hope he's a JRM 2.0.

Fulmer was at the back of the end zone and commented on HT’s 3rd down hit as well!

Ansley spoke at the Knoxville Quarterback Club yesterday...
  • To'o To'o: "He’s playing like a freshman All-American...He’s been playing tough, been playing injured. He’s one of those guys you build a defense around going forward."

  • Crouch: Ansley praised Crouch, who has 26 tackles, as doing “a really nice job of developing with our linebacker situation.”

  • Harrison: “Roman is at a position where there are a lot of guys in front of him, but he is a unique skill-set...He is a really good athlete on the edge. He is tough and plays hard. We just have to continue to develop him.”

  • Peterson: “He’s going to have a breakout future here pretty soon."
Derrick Ansley is excited about Vols' future at linebacker

Was excited that Pruitt got Peterson away from bammer. Been looking forward to seeing what he can do. Hope Ansley is right.
