Been watching the last few weeks and Fox News seems clearly to favor Perry over Romney. Every story I've seen explaining the back and forth between them always ends on either a pro Perry comment or a subtly anti-Romney one.

Anybody else see this?

I've noticed a little of that.

I only watch Fox News for Stossel and Freedomwatch and they don't really talk about Perry or Romney on either show.

I don't watch Fox enough to have noticed but would not be surprised and especially on the opinion shows. Romney impresses the left for the same reason McCain does... he's a Dem-lite. The idea of him as President doesn't bother you all like a conservative would. Since you find him the most tolerable of GOP choices... you think conservatives should see him as the best option too.

It just doesn't work that way. If we're going to get Romney and get blamed for him continuing Obama's failed economic policies... we might as well keep Obama so you can take the blame.

So your objection to Romney is that he is not conservative enough?

Yes. He is a thorough going Keynesian when it comes to economics not far out of line with Obama/Bush. Romneycare bears a striking resemblance to Obamacare. He's playing the federalist card now... which seems a pretty convenient out for a guy who doesn't seem to be much of a state's rights guy otherwise. While we're talking "convenient" positions... he was pro-choice while governor of Mass but suddenly is a born again pro-lifer when he starts seeking the Presidency. IIRC, a whole host of "gay rights" issues were advanced during his tenure... but now he runs against them.

The guy is slick and untrustworthy. He makes nice speeches that contradict his record. He won't get my vote.

FTR LG, I have made a commitment not to vote against candidates anymore... voting for the lesser of two evils if you will. If we keep doing that... then the parties will keep running two "evils" for us to choose from. If we start punishing them for running guys we can't trust (Romney) and guys who aren't qualified (Obama)... then they'll stop doing it.

Will do - you talking news coverage or opinion shows?

News. That's where I think I've noticed it. Like tonight, was a segment about Perry says x about Romney, Romney says y about Perry. Ends with reporter talking favorably about Perry having served and Romney hasn't. Quite beside any point in the discussion. Just out of nowhere.

Feel like I lose brain cells every time I watch FoxNews or CNN either one. Especially when its not straight news and is the talking heads or 'experts'. Stossel's show is the only thing on Fox worth a crap and I never get to catch it cuz the wife hates watching political stuff.

Personally, i have seen Perry coming since 2007. It's status quo guys, plain and simple. Do you really think any of these guys will change anything? Oh yeah Obama was the great hope for change..... what happened to that? Status quo
Wake up!

I'm guessing this is about Obama?

Clearly FNC is biased against Mormons.

I don't know if its that, a pro-Christian thing, a pro-neocon thing, an anti-Northeast thing, a pro TP thing, a anti he's-too--much-like-Obama thing, or what, exactly.

But was curious as to whether others perceive the tilt to the coverage of the back and forth between them or not.

I am struggling to see how you square your criticism of him for changing his stripes when Perry is a career politician who has campaigned for Gore, applauded health care reform, etc.

I mean, the Bush camp in particular knocks Perry for being exactly what you are talking about, which is a say anything to get elected empty suit.

pretty hard not to notice it, as it is obvious.

As to why they are doing it, Im not sure, but I think it has to do with the fact that 60% of Americans dont know who Rick Perry is
