I'm guessing this is about Obama?

Obama and/or Romney. I am not voting for either.

I do not think I would vote for Bachmann. I question her leadership and "stature" more than policy.

I am listening to Perry but am undecided.

If Paul would articulate a foreign policy based in the real world... I'd be an ardent supporter.

I would like for Cain to be given the opportunity that Obama had to recover from early gaffes... but am realistic enough to know that the MSM will not allow it. I believe he is a very bright man who would do a great job in office.

Gingrich is probably the best "ideas" man out there. He's a horrible campaigner.

Perry can probably lock the thing up tonight if he looks good. Conservatives don't want Romney. Everyone else is probably taking their last real swing tonight. Afterwards, those who stay in are just there in case the front runners stumble badly... or they are running for VP.

FWIW, if the winner doesn't pick Rubio or the NM governor for the running mate then they're fools.

I am struggling to see how you square your criticism of him for changing his stripes when Perry is a career politician who has campaigned for Gore, applauded health care reform, etc.
People can change their views. I have. Reagan was once a Dem. Jesse Helms and Strom Thurmond for that matter were once Dems.

It is the way and timing of Romney changes that tells me he cannot be trusted. He was a "moderate" (aka liberal establishment type Republican) as Mass Gov. He has NEVER governed as a conservative as far as I am aware. He has made no bones about his agreement with Keynesian principles.

FWIW, you help confirm my intuition by the way you favor him among the GOP runners.

FTR, I have not decided that I can vote for Perry. He needs to answer criticisms satisfactorily. I need to know more. I will not vote for him if he can't win my vote. As I said before, I am done voting for the lesser of two evils. I am not going to go in and vote against Obama. I am voting FOR someone whether it be a Republican, Libertarian, Constitution Party person, or a write in vote for I. N. Protest.

This will not get better until we start demanding people with consistent ideals, strong leadership, competence, and moral character. We keep voting for slugs... the Republicrats will keep running them.

BTW, can you cite the exact situation where he applauded health care reform? I know there was a comment around the time of Hillary's committee but cannot remember the whole story. Again, that alone would not cost him my vote. People can be wrong and then change. As far as I know, Perry has governed as a conservative... right?

I mean, the Bush camp in particular knocks Perry for being exactly what you are talking about, which is a say anything to get elected empty suit.

Bush was probably the greatest political disappointment to me. You won't face it... but the last two years of Bush from an economic policy standpoint were philosophically in line with Obama. The more I reflect on him and his presidency... the less I like him. He was indeed a "big gov't conservative"... another label for a Progressive who just has different ideas about how big gov't should work than Dem Progressives.

So if a Mormon, lifetime Republican, once supported a health care plan similar to Obama's, he's kryptonite because he's not to be trusted.

But a former Democrat party member, who once supported Gore for potus and who has announced support for Romney's plan and supported Hillary Clinton announces he's a died in the wool Christian, he just had a good faith change of heart.

You have just very succinctly explained the problem I am having with perry.

it's worth noting that the version of Al Gore that Perry supported in 1988 is nothing like the Gore that emerged after the 2000 election

Then who would you vote for?

I've already stated who I'm voting for this time. I'm tired of giving my vote to people who haven't earned any of it. If it comes down to Perry/Romney vs Obama then utvolpj will get at least 1 vote for pres
