Anticipate any Staff Changes?

Can we see any staff changes before the bowl game or shortly thereafter?

A new secondary coach? A new and improved OC hire?

Thoughts?

I hope not - tn #1 offense in America last year number 16 this year and u think we might get a better OC??

In case anyone was interested about Martinez ....from KNS.

Only secondary coach Willie Martinez is not under contract beyond the 2023 season, but he received a $75,000 raise. Martinez has been a trusted assistant of Heupel's for five seasons at Central Florida and UT. But the Vols ranked No. 127 in pass defense among 131 FBS teams last season.

I wonder if a return to LSU is in order with LSU defensive staff changes set to happen…

I would love to bring him in here I just don’t see Heup making changes.

Unrelated to us, would be a really smart move if Lebby could bring them (Sean Spencer DL / Corey Raymond DB) to Miss State to pair opposite of his offense.

Either way they will have jobs soon. Both are very highly regarded for recruiting and developing defensive talent.

This was Halzle’s first season as OC, and is considered as rising star in the coaching world according to College Football Network. I’m sure he’ll feel more comfortable in that role next year and Nico will be able to make some plays when the pocket breaks down, something Milton just wasn’t good at. Don’t know if it translates to a more productive offense next year, but it seems like the offense was handcuffed a bit this year. I imagine Nico starts somewhat slower than most of our hopes and expectations, but we see growth as the season goes on and by the end of next season we see signs of the ability to compete for SEC championship in ‘25.

It amazes me how casually people throw out the “who’s getting fired” question. Getting fired is humiliating. In the case of coaches, it’s public. Some of you seem to relish in coaches getting fired. It’s sad.

Florida just fired their secondary coach Corey Raymond. From what I saw this year, which admittedly wasn’t much, it looks like their secondary was one of their best coached units. Our secondary has been a weakness for us for at least the last two years.

If Martinez is out, does anyone have any thoughts on ATM’s DB coach, TJ Rushing. I thought their secondary was pretty good and just reading the guys bio which includes a Super Bowl win with the Colts, he seems to have some good experience. No connections to Heupel or banks though.
