Are we still recruiting him or are we content enough with Worley? I just like the fact that Brissett is a dual-threat QB. It adds a whole new element to the game that the defense has to account for. Just look at Vince Young.

Vince Young was sick in college, I dno if I would use his name that highly now, he wins games off of the titans D and run game, but I agree with you 100% on Brissett he is a more flashy type qb that we have never really had...I thought we were pushing pretty hard on him before Worley committed...not so sure now.

I know I've been wondering this too. Why haven't we gone after a more mobile style QB? Tee Martin was the last one and he won us a championship! I don't count Schaffer(sp)! But that's why I was so bumed out that Boyd was told to go somewhere else. How many more games could we have won if we had a good pocket QB that could take off and run if nothing was there or being pressured?

The game of football is changing. You can't deny that. These days teams are going after mobile QB's who can throw just as good as a pocket passer. Who wouldn't want a good pocket passer who also has wheels?

And honestly I don't really hear too many people getting compared to Tee Martin anyway....except maybe by Vol fans

Can you explain last year and Vince's rookie year then when the Titans had an awful defense? Vince Young even when he doesn't put up good stats helps the Titans win because it takes a linebacker to spy him which makes the linebacker a step slower against the run which opens up running lanes for Johnson. Then in the passing game it takes one less defender away.

It's not a coincidence that Vince has a really good record even though his stats aren't great at times.

OK then, how does he compare to the artful dodger, Condredge Holloway? I would give anything to see a Peanut in orange today.

I dont believe UT will try and get him imo, we will have 4 to 5 QBs on scholly next year.

IMO after Lamaisson left we NEED another QB in this class.

we have 2 guys who can play, thats it. imagine going into the 2011 season with only 3 Qbs with any reasonable amount of talent.

I believe he is a 4 star, but Bray is hopefully the future, Simms is a quick fix we hope, and Worley is a good prospect. I think there are bigger needs in this class.

We've got a good stable of QBs. I just wonder if our line is up to the task. This year, probably not. But hey. Whatever.

A good pocket passer with wheels is money. I agree. In that respect, VY was money in college. He threw first, created second. I think he'll be a productive pro (or has the tools to), but will remain to be seen if that pans out.

What I, IMO, don't want to see at UT, with a such a great history of Manning & Martin & other good QB's, is the Tebow/Pryor tuck & run by design type QB's. Why, those guys are really successful, you ask?

Just a peeve. It's not UT. It's not who we are. Athletic QB is fine, it's great. But, designed option plays are not UT. & frankly, they're boring to watch. In addition, not all "dual threat" QB's can pull it off. How many truly successful DTQB's are there out there leading teams in the NC hunt? < 5 in the top 25, probably 1 (Pryor) if you look at the "top 10" AP teams (quotes b/c we know how overrated OSU usually is). You really have to be quite elite to pull off those types of plays, cause they're easy to predict & then are run in typical patterns, so you have to be a f'ing ridiculous talent to make it work...especially against SEC D's. JMHO bout DTQB's.
