A good pocket passer with wheels is money. I agree. In that respect, VY was money in college. He threw first, created second. I think he'll be a productive pro (or has the tools to), but will remain to be seen if that pans out.
What I, IMO, don't want to see at UT, with a such a great history of Manning & Martin & other good QB's, is the Tebow/Pryor tuck & run by design type QB's. Why, those guys are really successful, you ask?
Just a peeve. It's not UT. It's not who we are. Athletic QB is fine, it's great. But, designed option plays are not UT. & frankly, they're boring to watch. In addition, not all "dual threat" QB's can pull it off. How many truly successful DTQB's are there out there leading teams in the NC hunt? < 5 in the top 25, probably 1 (Pryor) if you look at the "top 10" AP teams (quotes b/c we know how overrated OSU usually is). You really have to be quite elite to pull off those types of plays, cause they're easy to predict & then are run in typical patterns, so you have to be a f'ing ridiculous talent to make it work...especially against SEC D's. JMHO bout DTQB's.
Pryor IS overrated imo. The thing I like about Brissett is that he is strictly passer first. But if nothing is there and everything breaks down, he has the ability to gain yards with his feet.
Cordell Stewart started it, including not working out in the NFL. Same as tebow won't. Points are best done by air by a true passer. Passing TD's come with less wear and with more speed.

hate to say it, but the way he'll be used, tebow might work out in the nfl. i hate the crap out of josh mcdaniels but tebow could produce some tds
Rivers to LSU, wonder if they stop recruiting Brissette ...

LSU wants to take 2 QBs this year, especially if Zack Lee decides to join the Dodgers instead of playing football in the next week. I had heard Ely was looking hard at LSU but he delayed his announcement.
LSU only has Jordan Jefferson & Jarret Lee with any experience.
