…only drop a spot or 2 and remain above us in the AP due to the drama and epic comeback?

I imagine pretty much all AP voters were watching that game, and many will vote their emotions. That + Georgia clout, and I won’t be shocked if they’re still above us, but either way, it’s too early to get in a twist over it. All we need to do is win.

Hard to still have a one loss team ranked above unbeatens this early in the season. Stranger things have happened though.

Alabama took their foot off the ⛽️ in the second and third quarters. Beck ain’t all that’s he’s great at throwing dig routes and slants and he can hit some throws in the middle of the field. But if you get him off his spot, he’ll give you opportunities as evidenced tonight

If I were a voter, I'd still have them at #5.

No way I'm ranking them under a Miami team that needed the refs and the ACC front office to bail them out against VT to get a win. And Georgia's Clemson win is looking even more impressive now.

Ole Miss, on the other hand, is going to have a big drop. This was literally the first 'real game' they've played all season and they lost at home to Kentucky. Kentucky's D looks legit the past few weeks, but still ... Ole Miss is basically 4-0 against a bunch of weak teams and 0-1 against teams with an actual pulse.

They'll fall to 4. We'll stay at 5. And it won't matter cause what matters is the final poll.
I figured UGA & Bama would switch places 2 & 4 unless it was a blowout. Like you said at this point doesn't matter as long as we continue to win. I would hate to see Ohio state move up because all they play are cupcakes.

1. Texas
2. Alabama
3. Ohio State
4. Tennessee
5. Georgia

The rest can be whatever. Don't care. #2 on the road, losing to #4, you don't drop them much for that. They may not even put Tennessee above them - maybe just swap Alabama and UGA. "But UGA is 3-1." Yes, but that one loss was a road trip on #4's home field. That does not call for much of a drop.

Hell, now that I think about it, Alabama beating #2 may even make a case for them being ranked #1. Aside from beating an anemic #12 Michigan on the road, Texas hasn't scored any other big wins yet - UTSA, Colorado State, Louisiana-Monroe, and now Mississippi State. Alabama has this UGA win, and they did beat Wisconsin on the road. Eh. Could easily see some voters going that way.

I'd honestly put Bama at #1 right now.

That said, this is going to be one of the most intense SEC races ever. The gap between Bama, Texas, Georgia, and us feels very small right now.

Maybe even Ole Miss gets back into it. Their schedule is pretty soft this year. They avoid Bama, Texas, and us. Their toughest stretch @ LSU, vs OK, @ Arky, vs UGa, which as far as SEC schedules go, isn't that bad. They finish with Florida and Miss State, who are both bad this year.

I tend to agree based only on the head to head with Bama, but in combination with that shaky performance at KY, I think a drop to at least 6 is justified. It may not happen, but I don’t think it would be unfair if they exit the top 5.

Dawgs will drop to 8th or 9th, imo.

After the UGA/ Kentucky game, I would expect this. Oregon, Miami, and Penn State are good for viewer ratings because we’re all tuning in to see when one of them will finally get upset. Missouri will still be behind Georgia though.
