Any chance

A lot of time left for recruiting. The two biggest variables at the moment are:

1) What kind of product do we put on the field this year? Not necessarily wins and losses, but what type of offense and defense do we play? Do we play aggressively?? On both sides of the ball, are we innovative or are we predictable? Do we give up when we are behind, or do we redouble our efforts on the field? Do we improve as the year progresses? Do we get the maximum out of the talent we have??

2) Hopefully, this one is far less important, but how much effect does the NCAA investigation have on our recruiting? How successful will our opponents be in using the specter of sanctions against us?

At the moment, I am firmly of the opinion that we are on our way to a top 15 class, perhaps even barely cracking the top 10, with the class meeting many of our most crucial needs. We will have to wait and see how the season plays out to see how our recruiting is affected by the two variables above.

top ranked recruiting classes don't mean s&!* unless you win and utilize the top talent you have in creative and noticeable ways.

i am on board the CDD train but he better put Ws on the board and improve every week if we want to lure the top talent to UT.

as the season rolls, we will see where we end up in the rankings. Ws are the most important thing right now.

It's getting comical how people look at recruiting rankings. I would like to see a #1 recruiting class every year but I would rather see an energetic staff with a teachers mentality and kids that want to be here and want to learn. No one will ever convince me that Bryce was the #1 back in the country last year. He maybe could have been something but his actions have put his football career in jeopardy. I would take a kid with Tauren Poole's attitude over some premadonna with a bunch of stars by their name any day.

Gotta love pre madonnas

Dont expect this to be high, next years should be up to par with UT standards. To many big bodies to make it a high class.

I don't really buy this, there are plenty of highly rated offensive and defensive linemen. 54 of the ESPNU150 and 41 of the Rivals 100 are DL and OL recruits. UT's problem right now is a new coaching staff. This staff will close like a freight train on NSD with high caliber players in the skill positions and in the trenches. If we're not at least top 15 I'd be surprised.

really? are we going to ask this question every month between now and february? pointless to speculate in august

I must disagree.

Pointless to speculate in April, Yes....Not so pointless to speculate in mid-August. Classes are filling around the country and we should be closing in on a few more than just in State players IMO.. :birgits_giggle:

Maybe it will get moving after a product is on the field, but the "its to early"
excuse is quickly running out of time... GBO

Absolutely top 20. If a few teams like fsu and uf and Texas etc stockpile lots of the best players we could be top 10
