Any coaching Staff Updates?

literally this whole thread has to be changed to blue font, black font red font all the fonts.. even though fonts arent colors.

Buzzkill alert. The dude from Locked on Vols seems to think Martinez will be back. No idea how true that is though

He will be here as long as CJH wants him here, and that quite possibly will be till THEY provide him enough SEC quality DBs to assess his abilities as a coach. Pretty clear that our head ball coach did not believe the room that just hit the portal met that.

I will be surprised if we do not add some replacements through the portal SOON, after we finalize our NIL allocations on the 3 pools, first RETENTIION candidates, and then assess the best most cost effective mix of available HS and portal guys with the remaining resources for all positions after prioritization. This room may lean towards the portal to get some day 1 experienced help. Especially the May window when some guys that current schools are trying to keep, are still not seeing enough reps and could be incentivized to fill real holes elsewhere. The third best corner at some schools can be far better than our portal losses and guys can see they will be competing with mainly inexperienced guys and want to take a shot. Player networking means no tampering risk required.

Martinez has nearly 40 years of football coaching experience. I like he and Banks, and I think theyre stymied by lack of talent. Now we have talent, now we need depth.

Putting them in position to make plays is on Banks though.

Not me. I think Martinez is a poor developer of talent overall. I think he can get a guy to shine here and there but overall his development skills are very bad. We shall see I guess. Banks definitely has to do better but the CBs have to be better in fundamentals and that falls on Willie.

I'm hoping we have guys like Beasley and Boo who have instinct and don't need coaching as much. Manning always said Polamalu frustrated him because he was 'never where he was supposed to be'

I don't think I saw a serious response in the whole thread. Everyone is expected back for 2024.

Martinez won't be back. His contract expires after the Bowl game and the early signing period. No need to fire him, let his contract run out and he won't be owed anything. Probably the only staff change. Was hoping Banks would get the MTSU job, then give Dave Aranda whatever he wanted, but no such luck.

He'll it would be cool if it was actually funny or even creative. Just the same ones saying stuff others have already said, zero creativity. But no, the only likely staff change is Martinez when his contract expires after our bowl game.
