Anyone think with Clemson doing poorly that we may be back in it for MacLain (sp)?

I've heard some changes in recruiting since last week. I've heard Powers at TE has been booted and that JUCO DT Couch has been talking to USC. Coach "o" must be feeding him the usual bs. Any other news and what do you think will happen with Couch?

Man that would completely change our recruiting. That would be a very nice combo to get :dance:

According to MacLain, the new staff wasn't in contact enough with him.

In truth, I think the kid was looking for an excuse to decommit because of all the turmoil surrounding the program at the time. J

Been there...hoping someone closer to recruiting scene than most of us regular joes... would shed more light on the Couch issue and perhaps give us some more up to date news!

I can't imagine why a DT would prefer USC over UT right now. Compare what our coaches did against Oregon (not great - gave up 245 yards, and 5.6/attempt) with an patchwork D-line to what the great Monte Kiffin and Ed Orgeron did with USC's studs (really not great - gave up 311 yards, and 6.2/attempt).

All indications are that we sit very good with Couch right now. He was supposed to make a decision between the us and SCar on the 1st of Dec; he would pretty much be a Vol lock if his visit went well. Southern Cal has slithered back into the picture and he has stated that he may delay his announcement until NSD. This is somewhat worrisome because of the requirements to get into an SEC school for JUCO players.

Totally off topic, but watching CNN talk about the election results is freaking hilarious. The "reporters" all look like they are about to cry.
