Any fans of Terra Nova?

Ok, I haven't seen the show yet but from what I understand, due to overpopulation, humans travel back in time and settle x million years in the past. Wouldn't people with modern knowledge totally change the entire future by having knowledge and implementing it as opposed to discovering it as time went on? Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I'm watching it but it feels they missed the mark...they went too much Land of the Lost and not enough Lost in its style and format....all these shows could benefit from the direction of Lost, Battlestar Galactica, and Caprica...just in their style, ambience, plot, characters, scenes, etc
