Any thoughts on why Saban didn't run it to expire more clock?

TN has decent run defense and were blitzing relentlessly. The secondary is our weakest link- that’s why they weren’t running the ball
Geez though, I think I would have had to force us to use timeouts and force OT if the kick missed. Put yes, I feel you on this.

Honestly he probably thought he had a better chance of getting it against our secondary. Pass had been working all night.
Yeah, I don’t really blame him for the play calls. He needed another 10-15 yards before he could start milking clock. Plus, he only left us :15. 99% of the time, that’s good enough.

Any thoughts on why JH sat on time outs and allowed the clock to slip away?
Very fortunate to have 2 seconds left for the kick. It worked out but it was a head scratcher

It seemed like such a "Butch Jones" thing to do. Why not run it up the middle twice to see if Gibbs gets a first or at least run the clock down? I couldn't believe he was just throwing it out there in that situation with the timeouts he had. Run the clock, if you miss the kick it's O.T.
It really doesn't make any sense to me.

Seems like he was trying to get more yardage to make the kick easier for their erratic kicker.

He said he was trying to get closer for their FG kicker.

He hired Dooley as his Senior Offensive Analyst, go figure.

Not sure he was going to do any better than what he did with :15 on the clock. I did think he could’ve managed the end of the 1st half better.
Prior to the 15. They had not stopped Bama all nights, it looked like Bama was going to score again while milking the clock. I felt JH should have used one of his three TO around the 1:30 mark.
But I digress, somehow it worked out with 2 seconds and a knuckleball they got it done.

Lol his timeout calls were on point. Keep the momentum going and call TO with time to kick the FG once in range. It was textbook and perfect time management on last drive. We had like 13 seconds and won the game. No coaching errors in my opinion on that winning 13 second drive. lol

Ah, yeah… he definitely could have burned 1 there but hard to know if it would’ve mattered.

Probably hard to think straight with 102k ringing in your ears
