Any trap games?

Why would any of our games be traps? Y'all gotta quit with all of this damned worrying and looking for trouble. If there ever is any, it will show itself. And we'll deal with it accordingly. GoVols. šŸŠ.
Well said. Best strategy is to just take it one game at a time and study our opponent thoroughly leading up to Saturday. If we take that course instead of looking ahead to anyone else on our schedule we might just see ourselves in Atlanta.

10-2 is our floor. We should dominate in the other 6. The only potential ā€œtrapā€ would have been @Arkansas, but I feel a lot better about it coming off a BYE.

I continue to think Arkansas is much better than the national media is giving them credit for. We do get an extra week to prepare for them, though.

But any week things can happen in the SEC. No game, other than UTEP, is a gimme on the remaining schedule.

They should be undefeated. They blew it against the Pokes and Stillwater is not an easy place to play . They have an interesting game w/ aTm this weekend, hopefully they get a little banged up and weā€™re ready to go after the bye. That game is not going to be easy IMO

Edited due to mistake I made:
The Vols winning against OU was crucial to our seasonā€™s success and overall outlook. Out of all the teams we should beat, who do you see as the most viable threat on our schedule?

For me, itā€™s Arkansas. Even though theyā€™re ranked, I believe we should beat them. However, if we sleepwalk through that game, it could turn into an upset.

And yes, Iā€™m aware that sleepwalking against any team can lead to a loss, especially in college football and even more so in the SEC. But generally speaking, we should beat everyone else on our calendar outside of Alabama and Georgia. That said, even those teams are beatable for us.

Whatā€™s your take on our biggest potential stumbling block this season? Would you say Arkansas, or do you see another team as a greater threat?
I see our challenge is everyone is going to be hyped to play us. Teams like UF, UK, and Arkansas have talent and if we show up without our A game we can be beat. I don't believe that is likely but USCjr and Mizzou games happen in this league. UGA/UK game is a case in point.

Where we need to be worried is a team with elite secondary talent and a good to great D line. OU would crash the box pre-snap to give Nico the run read then take our numbers advantage away. We will see more of that and, in a tight game, Nico and the coaches have to have a hot route or quick hitch to answer. I honestly don't think there is a team outside of Bama and UGA with this combo.

Doesn't mean we will beat everyone by four scores+ but if we handle business no one else on our schedule should beat us outside of the two elite programs.

I watched a good bit of that Arkansas OK State game and the Hogs are certainly a decent team that is capable of playing with almost anyone when things are clicking. However, they are also mistake-prone. Youā€™re right that they were handling OK State well until dumb penalties and turnovers started happening. Their QB is talented for sure though and Petrino is a helluva OC. This will not be easy but a different challenge that OU was. Ultimately, weā€™re better and deeper and I believe that wins out but I donā€™t see us winning by 30+. Somewhere in the 14-24 range, depending on turnovers. If weā€™re even or + on turnovers then I see 20-24 spread. If theyā€™re + then drop it a TD or so.

Fair, our SOS to this point is very low. I was only saying going forward that it's higher. Also, it would make sense that in total it would be low as well.
True that. The climb toward Vandy appears to be a steep hill.

Florida. I donā€™t care how much they suck this year, or how ā€œgoodā€ we are, that team historically plays us like a team full of Heisman finalists OR we **** the bed, or both.
We do have them in Knoxville which should help. I believe we will be ready for them unless our Oline had more injuries.

Correct, the Arkansas game will be tougher than the Oklahoma game imho

It would be easy to overlook Arkansas and Mississippi State as potential trap games.

In the SEC, any game can be a trap game. Even the Vandy game can be a trap game. However, with our defense, we will be more difficult to be trapped. Arkansas on the road may be as difficult as OK, but our offense should have a much better game with a healthy Oline and an offense which can score enough points to beat the spread. Unless something weird happens, MSU should not be a problem
