Any truth to Bruce Pearl/South Carolina rumor?

Where did you even find the name Bruce Pearl on that entire page? A quick command+F (ctrl+F for all you PC lovers) reveals that Bruce is only mentioned twice on the page.

1.) Bruce Ellington
2.) Bruce Webber
3.) No Pearl.

Hes in year 1 of a 3 year show cause penalty.. If USC hired him they would have to have appoval via the NCAA and accept harsh penalties.. He will be out of the NCAA for 2 more seasons.. at least.. May never coach at a major school again..

Well 2 years of ban remaining they could hire Tony Jones since his 1 year show cause is over as associate coach to recruit and just let Bruce to on the floor coaching or just know in 2 years he is the man. South Carolina couldn't do any better. Teams like them to make strides have to gamble some. I would do that as hire another mid major gamble you will have to fire in 3 or 4 years.

Bruce still has more time to serve on his show cause from the NCAA. He will not be at SC any time soon.

USCjr can do better than hiring a guy who has a 2 year show cause remaining.

Would not e a smart hire at all IMO.

No he has a show cause. That means unless USCe can absolutely prove to the NCAA that they absolutely need bruce pearl (not just "we're bad / we suck"), then the NCAA can penalize the school for hiring him.

I actually think that's not a bad idea. They are a few yrs away from anything anyway. Didn't realize they could do as you propsed.

Keep in mind they probably would get loss of scholarships, and post season bans if they hired Bruce.

The NCAA would make it almost impossible for them to be succesfule in the next 2 years.

Well as I said earlier if that is the case they could hire Tony Jones as his 1 year show cause is up with understanding in 2 years Bruce would slide right in. Carolina would be in better shape in 3 years than any other hire they could make.
