Any updates on Hadden?

Hadden continues to try to bring people down with just his shoulder which is still a major issue regardless of his other stats. This had to happen sooner or later the way he is tackling.

I guarantee if you go back and watch his HS tapes he was obliterating the non D1 players with shoulder bumps. He looks small or slim for a SEC player but he's 6'1" & 197 #s. If his HS coaches would have trained him differently it would show on these spur of moment tackles. It always worked for him in HS but the SEC is a different animal. We really missed his coverage, Bamas production went up when he was out. Great cover guy and like most corners not very good tacklers, yeah Deion was probably best lock down corner but sub par tackler too.

Martinez should be fired for multiple reasons and still not teaching his players how to tackle (wrap up) should be close to top off that list. Or if he is teaching them and they are still not doing it that is still on him for continuing to play them.
Did folks not watch the play? Runner was going outta bounds he just shouldered him to make sure he went out. Actually wrapping up might have cost us a 15 yarder.

Wrong guy, Ramsey played at Florida State.
You are right ... so when Florida's Teez Tabor ran his big mouth as much any cocky shyte ever did, and Jauan Jennings broke his ankles and scorched his azz like yesterday's charcoal, it really didn't do anything but make him look like a fool, did it?

Simply stated the picks were not from great DB plays. I think he is a bit overrated.
By your definition of great DB plays but by your definition, the vast majority of picks don't happen from great DB plays. But neither my post of the article referenced mentioned picks because that's not the end all be all of great CB play.

Players have to be so aware of targeting that they can hardly make a tackle anymore.

Early in the season, I was really anxious about injuries. After Saturday, I'm of a mind that it really isn't something to worry about anymore. Someone goes down, and this staff can plug in a youngster and get some valuable experience. Sure, we might take some lumps, but is there that big a difference in 8-4 vs 7-5?

interesting take on Hadden be Steve Muench of ESPN
Muench: Kamal Hadden, Tennessee. An ascending player, Hadden is really good at reading receivers' breaks, getting his eyes on the quarterback and breaking on the ball in off-coverage. His length allows him to disrupt receivers getting off the line in press and break up passes. He has three picks this season and flashes the ability to pluck the ball out of the air. His 6-foot-1, 197-pound frame, great instincts and solid ball skills have earned him an early-Day 3 grade at this point in the process, but he has the potential to continue to climb boards. NFL draft questions, standouts and sleepers: Kiper & Co. pick the best 2024 CB and top risers

In an article on this year's CB's in NFL draft he was listed as a sleeper. I always find it interesting how different the outside perspective on a lo of our players is than on these boards.
According to some of our fans, though, he hasn’t improved and Martinez deserves no credit. It’s all just better pass rush. 😂

Still think 9-3 but time will tell. This team at home is different and will give UGA all they can handle

Correct...he was asking for it and got it. Pretty much how Inky hurt himself too among several others.

I will never understand why they do it....and much more so why coaches allow it...I guess bringing your arms and legs and getting your head in front to make a tackle doesn't get you on ESPN highlights top 10.

It worked for Jalen Ramsey for a few years.
Dude was cool as hell in middle school, one of my best friends back then. He does it because he worked harder than anyone I ever knew and I'm sure it's to get in their head.

Losing one means we don't have the other to sub in. Im pretty sure Crawford rotates in on the left side too which means Campbell plays more tired or we play a lesser guy in that spot.
My point is that there was a direct, immediate noticeable affect when Hadden went out...whatever dropoff from Mincey going down was less noticeable. I am sure it didn't help but this thread is about Hadden.

All of his picks as I remember were over throws when he wasn't close to the receiver . I don't remember him stepping in front of a receiver to cut the ball off. Correct me if I'm wrong.
You are wrong. The last INT in the aTm game, the pass was on the receiver who was blanketed by Hadden and another defensive back. Hadden deflected the ball up and then caught it himself.

No, you’re absolutely right. He got lucky,
except on that last INT in the A&M game. Even a blind squirrel…

Neyland is a special place, but the talent discrepancy and depth between UGA and UT's rosters is huge. I also don't see the battle tested leaders on this UT team. I'll take wins over UConn, Vandy and a split of UK/Mizzou and consider that the best this roster could have done. Solid year for this roster.

I won't have complaints with 9-3 and potential 10 win season with a new years six bowl.

I underestimated having to replace Hyatt and Tillman at receiver. I think that has plagued the passing game the most.

Thats because the real experts are the ones that only watch the game while drinking.

mincey and crawford are pretty much interchangable
That is terribly incorrect. Mincey can’t play a full game with his knee problems. That is the only reason Crawford plays. If you want to see what a game with all Crawford looks like, see Florida. He is poor in pass and run blocking compared to Mincey. Mincey is no future pro bowler, but he’s a big upgrade over Crawford.
