Any updates on Jonas Aidoo?

Still recovering from mono, which sidelined him for 6 weeks. He will likely redshirt I think, but who really knows.
Redshirt's already burnt. With fulkerson playing injured it's unlikely he finishes the season. Aidoo will probably play more against the cupcakes to prepare for conference. Missing half of preseason practice needs to make up for it while he can.

He's only played in 3 games, right? 4 max. So, how is his redshirt burnt? I thought you could play in a certain percentage of games before that happened.
The 4 game rule only applies to football. In basketball I’m pretty sure the rule still is that if you play at all it burns the redshirt. There is a process for a medical redshirt as BTO said but the NCAA does not have to grant it. And they probably wouldn’t without evidence that Aidoo actually had a season ending injury.

They’re super lenient on granting medical redshirts if you meet the criteria

Mono in the off-season probably doesn’t qualify though. Didn’t he get some garbage minutes against ETSU?
Yeah playing afterwards pretty much takes that off the table. He’d have to have a long term injury or another long term illness to qualify at this point

How many games can a player participate in and still qualify for a red shirt season? Is it four like in football?
Non-medical redshirt gets burned as soon as a player enters a game. They are debating allowing kids to play a set number of games and keep a redshirt, but it wasn’t passed this year.
