Anybody else watching Cal vs. ASU?

Quite possibly. But if they can dominate Cal, they should at least be able to hang with the Ducks.

Looking at the back end of their schedule, they could very well lose at least two of their four remaining games. Regardless, Dennis Erickson has proven once again why he is still one of the best coaches in college football.

You guys were right--we're not that good this year, and the Pac-10 is incredibly strong. Our defense has been thinned by too many injuries (especially along the secondary and the D-line), and it wasn't very strong to begin with. Longshore's been gimpy with an ankle injury he suffered at Oregon, and while he's solid to start games, he's been horrible at finishing them.

In short, any team with a power run game and a fast defense can beat us. We're definitely 6th in the Pac-10 right now, behind the Oregon schools, ASU, USC and schizo UCLA. Both ASU and Oregon are worthy BCS contenders and should definitely get consideration for the title game if one of them runs their schedule.

Oregon is the team in the Pac - 10 this year, with ASU running a close 2nd (JMO). Man Cal this past month has just been heading south and thats crazy because I thought you guys had a very good team. Good Luck to you guys.

I slightly disagree... While the Ducks defense is its usual self (crappy), the offense is spectacular. I don't know if we're seeing a shift in how the game is played or if its just the case this year, but low and slow defensive ball doesn't win football games. Three yards and a cloud of dust doesn't cut it anymore. This year, at least, we're seeing teams with the varied and fast offenses winning football games.

Oregon's toughest challenges still lie ahead. Their team now has to deal with power run/fast defense teams in UCLA (although who knows with Dorrell), OSU (59 yards allowed on the ground a game), and ASU (defense that gets stronger as the game goes along, only 29 points allowed in the 2nd half all year). I think Oregon loses one more game and gets the Rose Bowl (decent consolation).
