Anybody impressed with Miami's sophomore QB?

Tech has NOBODY on the defense line except Derrick Morgan---and boy, he looks out of shape.

The secondary was thought of as a strength of Tech this year (Morgan Burnett was tied with Eric Berry for interceptions last year) but they are getting torched.

It's a lot of stuff over the middle though...and Harris is getting a lot of time. Eek.

Oh well, you win some..you lose some. But the game isn't over...YET.

Def. not over yet..make a few big stops and with the way Miami's D looked last game who knows what can happen.

Okay. I was just making sure you weren't saying that a 16 year old could come out and play better than Harris has been playing. Normally I wouldn't say a 16 year old could play better than any college player but I wouldn't be surprised if Bridgewater could play better than Nesbit. Nesbit is a horrific qb. Georgia Tech may as well just line up a regular runningback at quarterback. If asked to throw, his throws couldn't be any worse than Nesbit's.

You have to realize that Nesbitt runs the OPTION offense. He came out of high school as mainly a passer---not duel threat. Remember, this wasn't someone Paul Johnson recruited.

The offensive line is TERRIBLE as pass protection so Nesbitt doesn't have many options.

One other note:Teddy Bridgewater goes to Northwestern same high school as Jacory Harris-Canes QB now. Harris senior year they were national champs and state champs and like 7 members with Harris signed with UM. What a team, They could have beaten some college teams as they were that talented!

I don't know.... I don't think a team of 17 year olds are going to beat a team of 20 year olds. They'd physically dominate a high school offensive line.

Trust me and mark it down-Teddy Bridgewater will be the number #1 recruit for 2011 for QB and he likes Tennessee as one of his early favorite. Last week along he threw for over 400 yards and he has been starting since his Freshman year as a receiver and then was moved to QB. He is a fantastic athlete!

Yes but he should be able to throw on occasion when asked. It's not like he is asked to throw a lot. He'll throw 10 times, complete 1 pass and throw 2 interceptions. That's why I said they may as well just put in a regular running back.

4 of their players came in and started at UM from day 1 the other 2 played alot and 1 was reshirted due to injury. Another area that has top notch players is belle glade and pahokee "nuke hometown". Travis Benjamin the UM RECEIVER you see tonight who is a speedster with dreadlocks is from Belle Glade and Pahokee has like 10 D1 RECRUITS this year along and the Vols are recruiting 3-4 of them.

What positions do they play? Unless they were a group of linemen it wouldn't matter. A college team would plow knock a high school line every single play no problem.

I am not saying they haven't produced awesome talent. I believe some of the kids are better than some current college players. They just aren't going to beat a college team in a football game. They'd get slaughtered. Florida's entire defense is probably going to get drafted but the 0-16 Lions would pulverize them. That's all I'm sayin. They play a higher level and the older you are, more of your players are going to be bigger physically.

1 is the QB Jacory Harris, 4 were receivers Johnson and Streeter, Collier, Thompkins 1 DT Marcus Fortson, 1 LB Sean Spence, 1 OL Ben jones so there were 8 that signed with UM. Actually there were 9 that signed with UM BUT ONE DIDN'T QUALIFY and 4 others went to D1 smaller schools. This year they have DT Todd Chandler who is a soft commit to UM but says he likes the Vols. Jose Jose "Vol OL Commit" team is loaded this year too at Central. Their QB Jeffrey Godfrey is good also and has been offered by the vols as well as their RB Gainer.

So this is what it's like to watch a team in orange that has a quarterback. Who knew.

Not only does he look great, but I believe that Miami is for real. They are leaps and bounds better than any other ACC team.

I am in between. I think they are for real as in they are one of the better teams in the country. I will say top 15. At least 20. I just don't see them beating the top teams. I think the ACC is pretty bad and it makes them look better. Definitely a good team though. They have the athletes and definitely the quarterback. It really does help though that the wide receivers are wide open everywhere. He does laser his passes to his man and drops them in perfectly when going deep. I just want to see him do it when a defender is only a yard away from his wr as opposed to 5 yards away. Less pressure throwing to a guy that's wide open.

Wonder how many posts there are on Miami boards about their QB needing to add weight to be effective?

Harris is a sophmore but this is his first year starting

Yes I am very impressed with him. He is so calm and collected it's not even funny. Even when all seemed lost against FSU he never seemed upset. Plus his throws are beautiful and on the money most of the time.

Miami has harris, we have Crompton :cray:

The kid has talent, no doubt. But let's remember the lack of quality they are playing. FSU is terrible, and Ga. Tech's defense might be one of the worst I've seen in a ranked team. They made the Big 12 defenses from last year look like giants.

Reality is that the ACC is really, really putrid this year. I am sure that by the end of the year, this will be the concensus of all.
