Anybody See CRB Press Conference Today

The SEC reps on the committee were from Kentucky and Alabama. Kentucky got the highest #2 seed and Alabama got a better seed that their resume called for. They screwed the rest of the SEC and took care of their own. We need new committee reps.

My second response to this post. I found a listing of committee reps and found only one of the two schools you listed. You have a newer or better source?

Asking Selection Committee to answer questions? Uncharacteristic of Him...But Warranted...Feed the Fire..He has got the teams back...glad he did it.

Rick Barnes wants NCAA Tournament selection committee to answer questions

The obvious answer is the committee feels the "body of work" for consideration ends prior to the conference tournaments. They just need to admit it publicly so everyone knows where they stand. Buzz said it very clearly, he has no idea where his team stood or what they needed to do to advance. A coach should know where his team stands at all times.

Tennessee got punked by the committee. Furthermore, our SEC “brethren” took up for themselves without regard to conference allegiance. Makes since that Alabama and Kentucky take up for themselves. All the more reason for me to hope both those schools get clobbered early.
There is no SEC "brethren" Tennessee fans are the only ones duped into thinking that is a thing.

Well just for that Tennessee will just have to give Kentucky some more ass whippings. I don’t know what Tennessee is going to do about Alabama. Can’t seem to beat them in anything other than baseball. However, it does confirm that both are cheaters.

Some day hopefully the SEC and other power 5 schools separate from the NCAA. Once they do that championships in football, basketball, and baseball playoffs will be like the pros. You get in based on merit. No political committees and therefore no controversies resulting from BS NCAA or College Football Committees.

I understand where you are coming from, but we need the SEC teams to do well so maybe the committee can appreciate what TN accomplished this year. Also helps build the conference rep for future brackets. Of course then we need to beat the crap out of anyone in our path.

Well, that SEC schedule sure helped our conference for number of teams in the big dance. It should work a certain way, but often doesn’t. I’m personally cheering against Alabama and Kentucky because I have a high distaste for them. You could also argue that continued good success for those schools could ultimately lead to poorer recruiting results for us. Hard to say, but I’m going with my gut on who I cheer for and against.

My assumption is Lunardi knows the committee considers how coaches have done in the previous tournaments. Barnes has a history of choking and his teams falling short in the NCAA Tourny. He can’t say that and the committee surely can’t say it, but it does explain why Duke and UK are higher seeded. Barnes has made 3 tournaments at UT and has lost to a lower seed in all of them including a 5-12 loss and a 3-11 loss.
He’s also took 4 teams to the tournament and has a Final 4 to his credit. If that was the reasoning, that’s the dumbest reason a committee member could use. They should immediately be recused from ever being involved in the selection process again. Last I checked we just beat Kentucky in a tournament and won the whole thing for the first time since 1979. Anyone looking at past tournaments with completely different teams are drooling imbeciles and should never be in positions to make decisions
