Anyone better than SEC?

Where do you think those 4 would finish in the Big 12, Pac-10 or ACC?
doesn't matter cause they don't play in those leagues...

but here's what i do know...
L'ville beat Miami, KY and KSU...ACC, Big 12 and SEC teams
Rutgers beat UNC, Ill..ACC, Big 10
Pitt beat UVA..ACC
WVU beat MD, and soon to be MSU...ACC and SEC

Now none of those are real heavy weights in their respective conferences, but if the Big East is so bad, you'd think they'd have a losing record vs. other BCS conferences...

and that doesn't include Uconn beatin Ind (big 10) or SY beating Ill (big 10) and taking Iowa to OT.

It's not a "great" league, but the top teams in this league are beating the other teams in BCS conferences...the Big East as a whole is 9-5 vs. all other BCS conf. teams...

Just because they beat UT doesn't mean I think they're better. It just means they were better that day...and I'm not really sure about that...I would refer to it more as Christmas in Sept. for the crocodiles...as for Ark. and Bama...let me re-do my list:
1. Aub
2. LSU
3. UT
4. Ga.
5. Fla.
6. Alsoran #1
7. Alsoran #2
8. Alsoran #3
9. Alsoran #4
10. Alsoran #5
11. Alsoran #6
12. Alsoran #7
the key is that's what you think...doesn't make it so...Fla is much better than 5th in the league...and i know this because they have beaten TN and Bama. i just don't see how you can even think UF is that much worse than UT... oh well...to each his own.

and some of those alsorans are still on our schedule...it'll be interesting to see what you think of some of those teams after the season....

I wouldn't rank the Pac-10 as the second best conference right now. I would say that the ACC and the Big 10 are both better.
Big Ten I'll agree with, but the ACC? Have you been hiding under a rock since August?

As far as the Cal game goes. They got it handed to them by a more physical, talented, and better coached football team. The people on the west coast just can't deal with it. They can find excuses wherever they need them. But they just got their lunch handed to them by a team that lost 6 games in 2005. And it does go a long way in showing the strengh of both Conferences. I think it tells more than bowl games show. In this conference we beat the crap out of each other all year. We have big game after big game. Not one or two. It lasts all season. Then after we have went through a conference schedule. We get to go to a bowl (usually) to face a team that we are not to excited about. What I mean is how many times are you going to get excited about playing a Maryland, or Clemson in a peach bowl? Or Iowa or Wisconsin in a Citrus bowl?
They'd best get excited, as the SEC is sporting a bowl record barely over .500 since 2000.

this year the SEC is tops...the win over Cal is looking better and better and no matter how hard anyone tries, you can't erase 35-18.

But as for the rest of the conferences...

SEC--pretty self explanitory.
Pac 10...i know this ain't popular, but they got 3 really good teams, and 2-3 other decent teams...it's really not a bad league this year.
Big 10...it's all about Mich and OSU...and that's enough.
Big East...WVU, L'ville, Rutgers, Pitt...all pretty good, and two in the top 10....3 undefeated, and all have wins over other BCS conf. teams.
Big 12...OK, TX and Nebraska...the rest of the league is terrible...mizzou is a fluke.
ACC...there isn't a league out there worse than the ACC. Miami, FSU, VT all unimpressive. When Wake Forest is your crown jewel, you got problems. Clemson and GT are probably the best two teams right now, and neither is sniffing the top ten.
Agreed, fully.

Louisville - OK...WV - maybe...Pitt and Rytgers - come on

If you look at the Sagarin ratings...In the PAC-10, Lou. is behind USC and Ore, WV is behind those two and Cal, and you add UCLA, Wash St. and Wash. before you get to Pitt or Rutgers.

Lou would be 2nd behind Texas in the Big 12. WV would be behind Tex and Okl, and you add Neb. before you get to Pitt or Rut.

Lou would be 1 in the ACC, WV would be 2 behind Clemson... Clem, Fla. St and Va Tech. are ahead of Pitt and you add Wake before you get to Rutgers.

Little East better than the ACC...I might give you that one.
Little East better than the Big 12...ain't buying it
Little East better than the PAC-10...that dog ain't huntin'
Are you seriously using the Sagarin Ratings? Those aren't even valid until season's end.

Here's how it is:

1. SEC - Anybody that tells you different is a fool

2. Big Ten - Ohio State and Michigan are two of the best teams in the country right now, the rest of the conference is alright.

3. Pac-10 - USC. Duh. Cal and Oregon are very good teams as well, despite their respective debacles. UCLA's still decent and Washington may have re-emerged. Oregon State and Stanford are the only teams that are truly bad.

4. Big XII - This one gets behind the other three because it's completely devoid of title contenders. Texas already got spanked, and Oklahoma is a really good runningback with some okay players. Lucky for Boomer Sooner, the rest of the conference kinda sucks. Nebraska's return was overhyped. The jury is still out on Mizzou.

5. Big East - Yeah, they have West Virginia and Louisville. The 'Ville has proved themselves legit by spanking Miami. West Virginia has been beating up on easy teams. Pitt and Rutgers have posted good records against completely creampuff schedules... And do you guys even remember who is in the rest of the conference? Syracuse, Connecticut, South Florida and Cincy. Holy hell.

6. ACC - One of the most dissappointing conferences in a long, long time. Like Jakez said, GaTech and Clemson are easily the best teams in the conference, but even they aren't that good. Every other team has looked horrid, including Free Shoes University and Thug U.

I'd even go so far as to put the Mountain West ahead of the ACC.

I hope every team we play (except the gators) win every game. We'll just look that much better. (Half full glass here!!!!)

Boy, do we ever need to keep winning!...I would regurgitate at the thought of Cal slipping ahead of us in the polls. They're getting way too much clout just for being in the same conference with USC. The wins they've posted since our thorough drumming of them should've merited maybe 3 moves up in the polls, IMO. Anyway, they can talk all they want 'cuz they know they don't have to play us again this year. I guess there's comfort in smoothing it over. Again, we just need to keep winning.

for what its worth, and it would look good for us, i predict cal to defeat oregon 35-17..and then proceed to run the table, including victory over usc, and take the pac 10 title this year....and while i'm at it, they will defeat michigan in the rose bowl.

USC will annhilate Cal. Michigan would do the same.

ann i e late.....its early, we shall see.

That was a typo. I left out an "i" in annihilate. Next time you try to correct someone, at least make sure your "correction" is correct. Seeing as how you are such a perfectionist, you might want to separate sentences with periods instead of commas. Also, try using capital letters and apostrophes.

"I watched the Tennessee game closely, and that game didn't have to be like that for Cal," said Oregon State coach Mike Riley, a 41-13 victim last weekend.
"They gave up two touchdowns on two hitch routes. If they played them tomorrow, they'd make that tackle and it would be a lot tougher on Tennessee. Physically, they played them pretty well. Watching the tape I said, 'Wow, this is different than most people's impression of this was.

That explains Cal's offenisve struggles. We only would have been up like 21-0 in the 3rd.

ITs no wonder its a bad conference. When you watch that film and get that a team was close from one tackle.

i am in big ten country, have always had to argue sec...for last 40 years. i am not saying a sec team, this year, would run the table in big 10, big 12 or pac (well maybe the pac) but aint nobody gonna come from those conferences and run our table either, even osu bucks. i said the same thing with usc last couple of years, sec is smash mouth speed popping football, it takes a great great team, like auburns with cadillac and r. brown, to do that. personally i thought they were natl champs.

It's been general knowledge since the BCS started that the SEC east and the Big 12 south were the best divisions in NCAA FB, and the SEC was best conference top to bottom, which explains how we dont have the Pac-10 bye into the title game, cause Alabama or Arkansas in a bad year can still rumble in the heavyweight division, whereas the team on that coast has to beat oregon and Overrated Dame, and they get the shot at the title game....the media lovefest for USC and the pac-10 is only outshined by the one they have for Notre Dame and Brady Quinn....by the way, look at the stats, EA should be in the Heisman Race if Brady is in there....sorry, i live in connecticut, and as there is NO CFB tradition here, everyoine is on the ND Wagon (STILL!?!?!?!?!!!)

dude, your taking the spelling humor waaay to seriously...however, you may want to reconsider your opinion on cal this year.

SEC still tops in my mind and ARK beating Auburn should be a validating point to support that. anyone can beat anyone on any given weekend. this league is just tough.

SEC rankinigs:
UF
TN
ARK
AUB
UGA
LSU

in that order, and only as of today...this will likely change next sunday...
